Lovely visit although you do have to go in to reserve a time slot but when I went in February there were very few people signed up. They offer Korean tours every hour but the English tours are only offered a few times a day but plenty of free slots. Had a great in-depth tour guide.

Interesting structure. You can only enter here through a tour and the guide is very knowledgeable about the royal family's history.

The best part of this tour was the local guide! He spoke wonderful English and, with humor and humility, he told us the history of the monarch who lived there along with the family history. We had to sign up for the tour, remove our shoes (a common situation in SK) and wear the provided slippers. It is all in the name of preservation and well worth it. The floors, rooms, and decor was beautiful. The bonus view from the balcony is glorious.

Certainly the most interesting visit I had in Seoul. Free tour with guide in English. Need to register at the reception to participate, the number of visitors per group is limited to 20, but we were 6...
It was a 30 minutes guided tour rich in information.

Interesting building to visit, free entrance if you visit the palace, constructed in European style as the Emperor at the time wanted to impress the West. It features free tours at fixed hours and you need to register for them at the reception before the start of the tour, as ling as there are places available.

The museum is closed on Mondays and you can get your entry included in the Palace Pass as well.
Take note! You are not allowed to visit the museum on your own, only through booking a tour.

Tours are also available in English and, in order to visit, you are required to take off your shoes and get some slippers from the entrance. That was a bit unpleasant, as the slippers are not single-use or washed between visitors, so the slippers were very smelly and because of them my socks smelled like feet sweat (which, then, I had to put in my sports shoes to leave - giving my shoes the smell as well) - so, ultimately, I had to wash my shoes when I got home because they stank due to the slippers at the museum.

Not sure if you cab bring your own slippers, but I would have tried if I knew of this before.
