This place!!! I don’t even know where to begin. The energy and warmth of the staff was truly beautiful. I felt so welcome and comfortable. But the attention to detail blew my mind. Two examples very soon after arriving - I was sat in a beautiful spot by the window however I was a little cold. A few moments later someone bought me a blanket, and then as if they could read my mind, they brought out a glass of hot water! 🥹 I have been throughly enjoying hot water with my meals whilst in Seoul.
The other incredible discovery which I didn’t find very often at the other Seoul restaurants I visited, was non alcoholic drink options other than water. Muoki actually did a non alcoholic wine pairing! 😍 Unfortunately on the day of my visit to Muoki I wasn’t supposed to drink alcohol due to personal reasons, so this was a very exciting option.
All degustation dishes were delicious however the optional broccoli and cheese additional dish that I chose was nothing special. The only other negative was, as fun as the Christmas music was, I think they had the same 5-6 songs on repeat 🥲
Otherwise incredible food and service, and I was super touched by the parting gift 🥹

Location is not on main Gangnam street. Hidden lane but definitely worth the find. Every dish is spot on and service is attentive and yet not stifling. Highly recommend!

I had the lunch menu and experienced my first solo dégustation, so this was quite personal for me. What I appreciate most about this restaurant is the warm, attentive service.

The timing was impeccable; I didn’t wait long for each course to arrive, especially since I ate so quickly given that I was dining alone. I was also pleasantly surprised that Chef James took the time to chat with me—an interaction that’s often rare, as chefs usually only pop by to say hello and check on the food. This personal touch was a bonus.

My favorites were the tuna and the liver toast; the flavors and textures truly resonated with me. I also enjoyed the beet dish, although I would have preferred smaller pieces of the hazelnuts, as I tend to worry about my teeth— so this is just me Haha The Hanwoo beef was cooked to my liking and paired with lion’s mane mushrooms, which offer a unique bitterness that might not be for everyone. The spicy (but not hot) sauce was there to complement it. I admired the chef’s bold use of unexpected ingredients.

The pricing is quite reasonable, which makes me eager to return. I would love to hear little stories though about local ingredients and partnerships with small farms when the dishes are served; it would deepen my appreciation for the love and effort that go into creating each dish.

Truly delicious!
We had an amazing time at Muoki. All the dishes were well crafted and tasty. I highly recommend to order the Muoki Egg as an additional dish, it’s a unique signature dish full of flavors!
The service was on point. All the waiters were kind, gentle and explained all the dishes to us in a smooth English. A special thank you to one of them who could speak French and explain the dishes in my native language!
Sitting at the bar enhanced our experience as we could observe the kitchen and the cooking in real time. We are grateful that the chef was very kind to us and even introduced some of his dishes by himself. Truly a special experience!

From start to finish, my experience at Muoki was amazing.The dining atmosphere was very pleasant and comfortable. The flavours in each dish were balanced and complemented each ingredient very well. The plating and presentation of each dish was beautiful. The staff are also very welcoming, attentive, and friendly. Muoki was also very accommodating to my dietary restriction and was able to slightly adjust the menu for me.
