This was a popular spot to have a tea experience and the views were nice. The building is beautifully adorned with lanterns making it a great spot for a photo. It can get extremely crowded. If you’re staying overnight you’re better off waiting until the crowds leave do you can get an uninterrupted photo with the majestic lights. The tea experience was unique. I thought for 300 per person ($9 usd) it could have gad some bigger pastries but I liked the green cookies so much I was able to buy four extra for 90. I think the tea experience is a part of the Jiufen culture and shouldn’t be missed. There are plenty of tea houses around but this seems to be an iconic one.

Jeez not sure if I should give it w stars or 5 stars. So it’s a tea house where you’re mostly just ordering tea and snacks that come with it. You have to order at least 600 Taiwanese dollars to even sit in which is the price of the most basic thing they have which seems to be what most people opted for. In other words it felt like a scam. The views are really good but if you don’t sit near the edge you can’t fully enjoy it. This is also the place in spirited away. It’s kind of a famous tea house but to be honest unless you’re here for the views or the tea, it’s really not worth it.

So this is the store that inspired spirited away, and it certainly lifted my spirits on a wet day. Not much view on a rainy day, but warm tea certainly warmed our hearts. So much tea to choose from and we chose 2 kinds of oolong. The staff patiently prepared the first tea, and we could do it ourselves thereafter. The snacks were also nice especially the green bean cakes.

This experience was so good. I got here on a rainy day in Jiufen and the place was not crowded. I was able to get a seat quickly, but do note that bags and umbrellas can't be placed on the chairs as they have cushions. They very nicely offered plastic bags for our wet umbrellas. You can pick from a set meal where they serve snacks and a standard tea. Otherwise, there's a separate menu where you can choose various teas. Once you have chosen the tea variety, there's a small tea ceremony where you can then smell the teas before drinking them. If you cannot finish the tea leaves, you can head to the cashier and they will vacuum seal it for you.

Probably the most popular teahouse in Jiufen due to the lanterns making the place look like it’s straight out of Spirited Away.

I would say visit just once for the tea making experience. The attendants do a good job at explaining the process in detail so that you can continue making your own tea later on.

The tea is very fragrant but nothing extraordinary. With each time that you steep the tea leaves you’re supposed to add 10 seconds to the timer however I feel that letting it steep beyond 30-40 seconds causes the tea to become too bitter so feel free to adjust the steep time depending on your taste.

The snacks accompanying the tea were nice, but again nothing mind-blowing. The sweetness of the snacks complemented the tea well.
