Come around 4 in the afternoon where there's no crowd. About 2 tables are eating.
Looks like a traditional old restaurant.

Fried mackerel is just so so, just fry fish.
And the soup that comes with it, it is too sweet for me. Need to add some vinegar.

On the other hand, their steam fish and the steam fish maw are wonderful. A very simple dish.
The fish is fresh, with no fishy smell. But again, if you like the fatty part of the fish, this is a must try.

Fishball is okay, nothing to shout about.

Will be back if I have a chance to go back to Tainan.

I like the milkfish skin soup 🥣 very much. The ingredients and seasonings are simple, but the soup tastes great and elegant. The braised pork rice is kind of sweet and it goes well with the fish skin soup. You can try the green onion sour spicy sauce. It’s definitely a must here.
