Absolutely delicious prawn and loofa soup dumplings (湯包)! This restaurant which has been open for 40 plus years serves up lots of traditional Chinese dishes and is really more of a family or group restaurant. They were happy enough to whip me up some of these dumplings though and I was really happy that I'd chosen them. The dumplings took around 10-15 minutes to come which I whiled away by drinking the complimentary pot of tea. The family next to me were busy enjoying a selection of dishes including beef rolls and very cool looking shrimp noodle soup housed in a charcoal fired China- style soup pot (see photos). I was surprised to see that this was just NT$288, and that the staff were regularly refilling the broth. As you can see from the photo of the menu lots of things were priced using the number 8. The owner explained that it's a China thing. Eight is a lucky number and thus used to price food. Although the tang bao were worth the visit alone to get the most out of this place you'd be best going in a group. The Peking Duck- one whole duck served up in three different styles sounds great, although it costs NT$1,100, the owner assured me it was plenty of food for four to five people.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in all of Taiwan! Every time we go to Taipei to visit family, we always eat here! The food is simply delicious; highly recommend it!
