Happy hour 3-7pm Monday through Friday, buy twp beers get a third one free! When we entered we were greeted by an employee who was well versed in English and Chinese. He answered our questions thoroughly and happily. He is a Taiwan native and spent time in Colorado for school but didn't fall in love with beer until he returned to Taiwan. He was very warm and welcoming, and didn't hover even though we were the only customers sitting inside (others opted to enjoy their beers outside and upstairs). Great relaxing casual yet clean/modern decor and atmosphere. What was really cool was that they had water on tap at every seating area inside, so no need to wander over back to the bar to ask for a glass of water. They had 20 or so beers on tap, all their own brews. The menu also listed the ABV and IBU, helpful if you like to manage alcohol intake and give an idea of bitterness of the beer. All beers were NT$200+ per glass (16oz I think). We tried their New England IPA and their Saisson, both were on point!! So clean and full of flavor, delicious! We didn't have the time to try more but we definitely will be back. Next time maybe we'll try a flight of their more unique beers. They have a few other locations throughout Taiwan. This particular location seemed too small for them to be brewing their open but they get shipments in every week.

A small well run bar in a lovely area with not too many other bars. They make all their own beer, the imperial stout is award winning. The beers are around 12 oz and 220NT so not cheap but they are very nice. A small food menu looked good however we only had the spicy peanuts, excellent. The bar is small with a few seats outside too. If you are in the hood, give it a shot.

I shouldn't have been surprised to find that there are craft brewers in Taipei but I was. Zhang Men is down a couple of streets and an alleyway from the MRT station, but it's worth the walk. A dozen or so different brews on tap that traverse the spectrum of beers from Vienna Lager to Pilsner to Stouts to Ales, even a fruit beer. I opted for two beers and they're priced at US rates rather than anything close to Taiwan prices. NT$150 for a small pour, NT$300 and up for a full pint. That's US$5 for a half pint. Ouch. But it *is* good beer and it's a neat spot with free wifi and inside/outside seating.

I had 3 beers in total. 2 different stouts and an IPA. All were excellent! Atmosphere was nice and clean, staff were attentive. As an American visiting for business, it was perfect!

4 stars due the bet beer: They had 16 craft beers on tap. I got the double IPA, while the wife got the cream ale. Beers were each $Nt200=$Nt250. I thought mine l quite excellent. The wife enjoyed the cream ale, BUT said it did not taste like a cream ale to her. The music over the speakers was good, and the bartender was friendly. The food selection was very limited however, and appeared to be pre-prepared items rather than being made on the spot in a full kitchen. That said we, passed on the food... and this is what dropped the rating from 4 to 3 stars.

Zhang Men is a cozy yet sleek craft brewery offering a wide selection of beers including some nice German varieties. Weizenbock is a solid brew. Whiskey sweet note, a good alcoholic character, and a malty mouthfeel. But there was some bitterness that built up as the beer went down. Imperial stout--Nitro lends a thicker and creamier mouthfeel. Some coffee character. Very smooth to a fault as it has a weak if not watery finish. Zhang Men is a satisfactory establishment to enjoy craft beer.

This is probably my favorite brewery in Taipei because it's the only one I recall ever going to. The inside is very small, seating for approximately 10 Taiwanese (or 2 Americans). The beer selection sign is larger than the size of the seating area, which is important. They have around 10-15 beers listed on the sign and I gave 3 a try the first time I came here. I liked the Hazy IPA the best, but I would say it's only a 3.5 out of 5. The serving glasses are not a full pint, but I was feeling pretty good when I left. I grabbed some stickers and made a point to bookmark it so I could come back. I think it has potential and I would recommend giving it a try.

Really chill vibes, but I wasn't too fond of the 4 beers I had and the 2 that I tasted. Prices were comparable to happy hour craft beers in the US, so that was pretty cool!
