Great Malaysian place near Xingtian Temple. They have lots of classics, including Nasi Lemak, Char Kuey Teow, and Laksa, to name a few.

We ordered the Char Kuey Teow ($195 NT), Nasi Lemak ($209 NT), Curry Fish Balls ($60 NT), Fried Assorted Appetizers (including wontons and shrimp cakes, $90 NT), Milk Tea ($90 NT for iced), and 三色咖啡 (unsure of English name, $90 NT).

The Char Kuey Teow and Nasi Lemak were fantastic, some of the best I’ve had in Taipei. The appetizers were also solid but a little on the smaller side. The drinks were nothing special; the milk tea was extremely disappointing and tasted like flavored water and the other’s coffee was too overpowering to taste any of the other flavors.

The older lady working the cashier was a little frustrating to deal with though. They have a system where you write your name down on a list to queue up, but when it came time for the next party to be seated, she just came out and started asking “so who’s next?” and just started asking random people instead of checking the list. Why even have this system if you’re going to ignore it? After being seated, you have to go to the front and order with the same lady. As I went up to order, she answered the phone for a to-go order (no problem by me, phone is more urgent in this case). However, the way she talked to the customer on the phone was extremely unprofessional. She kept speaking over the customer, then when she couldn’t understand what their order or their phone number was, continued to blame the customer rather than just moving on. The rest of the staff seemed fine and were extremely polite in the limited interactions we had with them.

Overall, would recommend as the food overshadows any of the service issues from the one member of staff.

I recently visited Face to Face Noodle House in Taipei and had a delightful meal featuring two of their popular dishes: Char Koay Teow and Sarawak Noodles.

The Char Koay Teow was a real standout, with its perfectly stir-fried flat rice noodles. The dish had that elusive "wok hei" aroma, which gave the noodles a wonderful charred flavor, complemented by prawns, Chinese sausage, and scrambled egg. The smoky taste from the wok really took the dish up a notch, making it one of the best versions I’ve had in Taipei.

The Sarawak Noodles, on the other hand, offered a different but equally delicious experience. These dry Hong Kong-style egg noodles were served with barbecued pork and minced pork, creating a flavorful, hearty combination. The noodles were slightly on the dry side, but adding a bit of the complimentary anchovy-based broth helped loosen them up. It was a comforting and tasty dish that highlighted the simplicity and rich flavors of Sarawak cuisine.

The ambiance was also pleasant, blending the feel of a traditional Malaysian coffee shop with the comfort of an air-conditioned setting. The service was friendly, and the food arrived promptly.

Overall, Face to Face Noodle House is a great spot to enjoy authentic Malaysian street food flavors in Taipei. I highly recommend it, especially if you're craving well-executed noodles with that authentic Malaysian touch.

Delicious noodles if you crave Malaysian or Singaporean hawker food.

We ordered 4 noodles: prawn noodles, horfun, char keow teow, dry noodles.
The fried keow teow was good.
The others are OK.
We ordered a drink each, coffee and Cham was good. Milo kaw was good.

The metal stools are very uncomfortable, theres no space /basket to put our bags. Can't imagine how it would be when they're really busy.

Service was prompt, the place was clean.
