Had to pay this place a visit because it's in the Michelin Bib Gourmand list. Have tried quite a number of Braised Pork rice in taiwan and had my likes and dislikes, had to come here judge for myself because it's in the list.
Place was rather crowded even at 9pm, wonder if the locals don't have their dinner early. I liked how systematic and efficient the queuing and management of crowd was, you take an order slip with colour based on whether you are dining in or takeaway. Then inform the staff the number of persons and then they will source a seat for the group. Once the seat is confirmed, you will be asked to head to payment counter and food order will be processed.
Very smooth and food was prepared rather quickly and the moment they call your receipt number just raise your hand and the staff will bring the food to the table.
So funny the staff actually apologized to me for giving me double portion of the tofu I ordered.
First, I had high expectations and it kinda fell short. I had the braised pork rice and I felt that the flavours were not what I expected it to be. The taste was milder compared to typical ones though the meat was tenderly braised. Somehow they seemed to make use of the preserved vegetables to make up for the flavours so as not to make the dish taste too salty. I liked the preserved vegetables and they were good but would have preferred the gravy to have a stronger taste.
The highlight for me was the braised tofu. The braised tofu was so soft, you can still take it with chopsticks without breaking and yet it felt like melting in the mouth.
The egg was also perfectly cooked and i strongly recommend putting the egg on the rice and break the yolk and let the lava flow onto the rice and not just chug the egg into the mouth directly.
The pigs blood soup was light and simple, but the pig's blood was so delicious felt it was to die for.
As it is a braised pork rice shop, I felt it could have been better, but I felt that the sides have actually saved the day.
Worth giving a try to find out yourself, but maybe just lower the expectations a little.

Came here and not queue. The owner and staffs are very welcome to me. They help and give me some recommend food, they also asked me about the food tastes, its good or not, and ask me if I want to order more, he can help me to order it. Thank you so much sir ! You are so heartwarming to me 💙

Decent mass cooked food for supper. Famous pork rice is under braised & dry. Pork leg is good. The braised sauce is not the heavy spices type. More soya type. Decent price. The place is super hot tho.

The shop provides clear instructions for dine in. Worth trying food : 豬腳飯，排骨，苦瓜湯. The soup was really surprising. Feels slightly rush to dine in, because alot people waiting for a table due to the limited space.

This place is such a hidden gem, you can never find this on travel blogs or any recommendation list. You could only have found this through word of mouth from the locals.

This is probably one of the best lu rou fan I ever had in my life. No frills ordering, just striking what you want on a piece of paper, they'll all be packed in 5 minutes and ready to go on your way.
