So happy to see Ichiran in Taipei, Taiwan. Just as delicious as Osaka, Japan! The service is quick and efficient. I like the ordering system because it's easy to customize the ramen to my liking and easy to order more as I go. The ambiance is so unique because it's just me and the bowl of ramen that I'm enjoying.

We waited around 25 minutes at 3 pm. The line queues outside. The ramen broth is so flavorful! The ordering process is simple, with both a Chinese and English menu. Once you put your order in, the food arrives within 5 minutes. I like the concept of individual seating. It allows you to really focus on the flavor! Service was friendly and fast.

After reading so many reviews mentioning the long wait, I decided to go early, 7:00 am. No wait as expected, yes! I'm actually not a fan of ramen, but I do like its food. I don't mind having another one next time if I don't need to wait. The whole experience was good and interesting, minimum interaction with people. I like it.

The best ramen place in Taipei. Location + Transportation This restaurant is conveniently located in the XinYi district, which has so much to do! There are countless shopping malls, restaurants, dessert places, cinemas, gym, etc. If you can think of it, it is probably there. Transportation is also really convenient here. Most buses and metros have a stop somewhere around here. Very easy to get to and have many other things to do around here. Atmosphere If you are eating ramen alone, this is the perfect place to be. You have your own cubicle so you can be all alone without anyone bothering you. This is one of the few restaurants I feel comfortable dining alone in. I get to just be in peace with myself. That said, if you're trying to come with friends, beware that they usually sit you in a row as they don't have big tables. For 2-3 friends, it's possible that the row formation could work. But if there's many more people, it seems difficult for everyone to talk to one another in this formation, so it might be something to beware of when coming here. Food Everyone typically order a bowl of ramen and additional toppings. They hand you a piece of paper to customize your ramen. You can pick how thick your soup is, how soft your noodles are, how oily your soup is, etc. Thus, you should be able to craft the ramen of your dream, in theory! Personally, I love this ramen place and come here every time (5+ times) I come to taiwan. There are also a lot of toppings available, such as charshu, egg, seaweed, etc. The egg here is extremely tasty as it is not fully cooked and slightly salty. Would highly recommend getting the egg. The other toppings are just average.

Yup, despite eating ramen more times in the last 10 days than I can recall, I saw the logo on the mall's map and my lunchtime decision was made. Located conveniently in the back corner of the first basement, behind the young girls' underwear section (REALLY?!?), you have yet another little bit of Japan here in Taiwan. [Side Note: the churro place I was after had been in the lingerie section of another building... so, I'm not sure what to do with this. Was there a study reporting that a statistically significant portion of the population will buy underwear and a churro at the same time?] Notably absent are the ticket vending machines and the accompanying "cash only" requirement, but the menu, order slips and little eating cubbies are the same. Interestingly, the people cooking and serving the ramen speak a whole lot of Japanese. For comparison purposes, I ordered the baseline ramen here: all of the defaults plus mushrooms and a soft boiled egg, which came on a plate separately. The ramen itself was pretty much the same, but the pork was sliced slightly differently -- mine came in strips instead of the usual cross-section -- still, it was tasty. The mushrooms were more chopped than julienned, but that wasn't a big deal, either. Here, you take your order sheet to the cashier to pay once you're finished. For what it's worth, they take more kinds of cards than I think I've ever seen... I was out the door for under 400 TWD, which is a bit pricier than the same in Japan, but still reasonable for lunch. (I only had water to drink since I was headed back to work, but they have beer and ramune if you want something else.)

This place is an introverts dream! The only interaction you have with another human is when you are seated and when you pay for your meal! You get your own little section to eat with a divider between you and the person next you. Ordering is also super easy. It's all done through a paper menu that lets you customize exactly how you want your ramen to be! (English or Mandarin) Slide it under the blinds to the chef, and you're on your way to some of the best ramen you've ever had! What I love about the menu is they keep it very simple but they also give a recommended choice for each option based on what most would like. Of course you can circle and choose what you want but I just went with the recommendation and it was perfect. I did go one level higher on the spiciness because I'm all about that spicy life! I got the "ICHIRAN Special" which is 134ntd extra. This adds some extra pork, seaweed and an egg. It's the best deal in my opinion. Total I paid like $12usd for my meal. There's a water tap at your seat. So again, no need for human interaction hahaah. But like, if you went here with a few friends the dividers are small enough that you could still talk and interact with them. Oh and one of the best things about this place.. open 24 hours!! I've read a lot of people say it isn't as good as the original in Japan but I loved it! The only thing I felt could be improved is a bit more noodles. You can buy more as an extra but would rather not have to spend more money for more noodles. It's a 5 star for me. Ramen, 24 hours a day, everyday... It's a yes for me dogg.

Came here on a Saturday around 12pm which was not smart due to the long wait, waited for about 45 minutes. It was my last day is taiwan before my flight so I decided to wait anyway. Though there is one in NY but it's about $5 more expensive so I rather try it in there. The ramen was much better than I thought since when I read reviews, it wasn't that great. The broth was light and simple, the ramen was good. I would definitely try it again

The infamous Ichiran has graced its presence in Taipei. I was told that line is crazy long but luckily for me, I went during 4:00pm on a Tuesday- no waiting. Unlike the vending machine in Japan Osaka Ichiran, we order our food on a paper to customize the flavor and topping. Seating and the style is the same. A single booth to enjoy your meal. Flavor is great. From my faint memory of Japan's Ichiran, I feel that the expectation is to par. Still very fond of the ramen. The food is served and no one to bother you from your noodle slurping. When finished, the tab is paid at the counter.

My first time at Ichiran! This ramen blew all other ramens I've tried out of the water. Very impressed - made perfect to what I wanted! Broth was so rich/creamy; noodles really hung onto the broth as you picked it up with each bite; egg cooked perfectly; and the pork was thinly sliced evenly and had a nice marbling of meat and fat ratio. Servers were polite, food came out fast, menu directions were very easy to follow, and the price came to around $14usd with the special. We came 10:30am on a Wednesday and there was no line! My favorite bowl of ramen that I have ever had so far. Will come back in other locations and hope it's the same quality!
