So far my top choice for pork knuckles (蹄膀) in Taipei! The skin together with the fat has a very bouncy texture while the meat is soft and melt in the mouth. The braised pork on rice is also nice. And it is super cheap!

This is a very popular local eatery providing traditional Taiwanese food in a very casual setting. It’s not easy to eat here if you don’t speak the language. You need to pick up an ordering clipboard and check items you want to order then hand over to the staff to get a number. They will call your number (no English at all) when there’s a table available. You paid first then place your number on the table.
Everything on the menu is good. It’s a simple operation selling common food items that you can find at almost all Taiwanese restaurants but the execution here is better and consistent.

Must try their house special braised pork mince rice, aromatic and full with flavour, saltiness from  the soy sauce plus all the Chinese spices to build the layers of complexity, then the grease from the pork smooth every out before it goes down the hatch, delicious and highly recommended.

Clean and fast restaurant that serves minced pork rice. You order on a paper menu and pay at the front. We weren’t too hungry so it was nice you could choose a small or large rice bowl. The restaurant had AC and was spacious with many seats.
