I’ve been getting the combo option (綜合） which has both lean and fatty meat. The buns are fresh and soft and the meat just melts in your mouth. I also got 四神湯 (four herbal soup) and it was delicious and comforting.

Bun is super soft. I ordered lean meats, soft & tender with a nice braised flavour, but not very rich. The meats r not so soft that it melts in my mouth, but I think coz I didn’t opt for the fatty 3 layers.

We had the lean and fatty bun, and I personally think the fatty bun tastes better (but maybe less healthy). The bun themselves were pretty soft. Also had the Mian Xian which was pretty good. This shop is cash only too.

The kua bao tasted remarkably similar to what we had in Taipei back in 2013. The nostalgic and familiar flavours brought back fond memories, making us reminisce about the past. We regretted not indulging in more back then when it was cheaper. Although the filling seems to have slightly decreased compared to before, it is still a solid kua bao option in the area.

We came for a quick lunch. We wanted take out, but there isn’t anyplace to sit down nearby so we decided to dine in. We had the “sandwich”. Get half lean meat and half fattier meat for more flavor. Be sure to get the veggies as they are part of the experience. But skip if you don’t like cilantro. Don’t let the hole in the wall atmosphere scare you away.
