PEOPLE, GO TO PRAYA DINING
There was literally just us dining when we went and we were so spooked by that at first -- usually a terrible sign -- but then it ended up being one of the best experiences we had in our 3-week trip to Asia!!! What's up with the lack of people? I mean, yes it's out of hand, but that also makes it so special !!
Yes, we almost gave up going as we couldn't figure out where to get the boat, but decided to use our Skype credits to call the restaurant. They picked us up by boat immediately (we were in the Phra Arthit boat stop #13). The boat ride was soooo nice!!! It's such a charm.
Okay, now the food. Delicious. So good. The menu is wonderful, the extensive research done by the chef is laid out to you. I love that they divide the dishes in different eras of Thailand. I love that you can eat an ancient recipe researched by the chef.
They also were able to do actually mild food for dishes that are usually spice, so super tourist friendly!

Thai food you can’t experience everywhere!

Transport - cool little boat ride across. Pier was not very well signed but apart from that, we figured out with provided instruction and boat arrived pretty quick to pick us up.

Food - Most of the dishes were great in the set menu. Some appetisers were not the best however I believe that could be a personal preference. The soup with lemongrass and beef was surprisingly amazing, the beef in betal leaf was also a stand out. Drinks were also meeting the expectations. Dessert! Another surprise highlight.
And welcome pandan tea was also a great start of the feast.

Overall, great experience, highly recommend and would love to take my parents back one day.

The food is very delicious. It's Thai cuisine that might be hard to find, but they do it really well here. Every dish is tasty by “Chef Na” and the staff takes great care. I went on birthday occution and they surprised us with mango sticky rice cake. This place has won a special place in my heart, and I will definitely go back if I have the chance.

Absolutely amazing!
Chef Na is absolutely amazing and created such great flavors and textures with this meal. The best place I have been to in several years. Absolutely amazing. I give a lot of five stars, but I don’t typically rate places I don’t like. This is an incredible restaurant with a rich history. The food is absolutely amazing. We found this restaurant on the Michelin guide. I recommend one of tasting menu items. Chef Na created incredible flavors with the Thai regional dishes. There was nothing I did not like, as it all was amazing. This was a date night place for us and it was our best pick all year. The tasting menu has regional tastes from different (not all) regions of Thailand. The staff really appreciated our ability to speak some Thai with them and discuss the history of this location and Thailand. There is no doubt we will be back. I will also bring family and friends to this place.
I provided a scan of the menu, so you can look over your preferences. I missed taking a picture of one of the dishes, but it will just have to be a surprise for you.
By the way, you have to take a boat to get here. Simply call the restaurant and they will send the boat over to pier 13.

After a day in the city, my wife and I made an impromptu reservation at Praya Dining. We headed to the Phra Arthit Pier and called the restaurant. Quickly their private boat was dispatched across to transport us to the boutique hotel that houses the restaurant.
Our first impression was of the special attention we received. We chose our table among the dozen or so in the historic building.
We ordered appetizers to share - spring rolls and la tiang. But first, our gracious server, Orn, delivered amuse-bouche to the table. She did an excellent job of describing each dish and making suggestions throughout the night. We learned quickly that serving sizes were more than generous! Each dish provided enough to share if desired.
The Sang Wa Goon followed - King Rama V's favorite. It's a lovely combination of fresh vegetables, crispy catfish, and spicy grilled prawn dipping sauce craddled in lettuce leaves.
Our mains were the Beef Massaman and deep fried Rice Prawns in red curry sauce. Tender chunks of beef and potatoes packed with flavor. Prawns covered in a touch red curry. Each dish had a depth of flavor unlike anywhere else.
Bee checked in throughout the night to ensure everything was to our liking. She provided friendly conversation as our meal was concluding. When finished, our boat was waiting to take us back across.
At times throughout the evening, it seemed like we were enjoying our meal at a friend's home. A gem of a home on the banks of the Chao Praya River!
