If your looking for an escape from the rush of a vacation and the busy noise of the cities this place will slow you down and relax your mind and body. Quite,peaceful, and great place to relax and feel pampered. The food and staff will make you feel elevated.  Well worth the trip.

The more you spend for a hotel, the higher expectations I have. The service and location was incredible. However, overall the rooms and restaurants felt a bit tired and not to the level of a 5 star, high nightly rate hotel. The lighting environment at the hotel is simply put not great. They have a lot of fluorescent lighting that feels dated and not thought through. The rooms had patch work fixes to certain fixtures that just seemed over-used. Lastly, the morning buffet just felt meh -- it didn't feel special and very American buffet style. It was just off after going to a Zannier and Aman hotel. I would recommend the hotel but caveat that the vibe needs a bit of an upgrade. Overall, great staff and location.

Spa is horrible, its actually not a spa, its massage tables and untrained therapists. One of them injured my back. There are no facilities such as a sauna or hot pool. They make you walk up a long flight of stairs to your massage table. I'm a big Four Seasons fan, and am still shocked by what a bad experience I had here. Most spas have some kind of facilities, pools, in fared saunas, cold plunges, etc., and luxury resorts employ very well trained therapists. Frankly it would have cost $30 for a three hour treatment at a spa in town of Chiang Mai, and would have likely felt better not worse. I'm still in a lot of pain from what she did to my back, and am concerned its a serious injury. Lastly, something that really surprised me about this resort that you should know before booking --- they charge $270 bhat to pour you a glass of water - every time! I've stayed at many Four Seasons properties, and I have never seen this before. Filtered water seems to be provided at most hotels I've stayed at so far in Thailand.

The setting is beautiful and incredibly relaxing. The staff, as expected, were professional and very Chiang Mai warm and friendly.

I was treated to a Thai inspired afternoon tea for my birthday and was a little disappointed. All the pieces were tiny bite size - even the scones (which were good) were no larger than a small macaroon. It also lent too heavily on the sweet side. We were hungry, so we ended up ordering a club sandwich, which was average.

They did bring two beautiful birthday cupcakes which was a nice touch. And you could order as many drinks as you liked, which was great.

The best hotel experience you will ever get, the staff is extremely attentive. They take care of your every need and make you feel very good and comfortable during your stay. If you leave the room for even 1 hour you will come back to clean and tidy room.

I forgot my wallet there and traveled to bangkok, they sent it to me and coordinated with my hotel in bangkok without having me even make one phone call. The wallet was with me the next day.

If there was ever a hotel to recommend, it's this one.
