We went there at dusk when the temple was less crowded and peaceful. But I recommend visiting when there is more light and visibility to truly see the views. The car park is free, but there is an entrance fee as usual. Beautiful views of the Chang Mai City, and there are 300-plus steps to climb to the temple.

Straight from the airport we visited this beautiful temple. The road leading to the top of the mountain was wavy and steep and made me feel sea sick but it totally worth the effort. On a sunny day all the golden surfaces shine and reflect beautifully making pictures look amazing

We were able to stop by at dusk and experience the Wat as the sun was setting. The Wat itself, while under construction, was beautiful. The vantage point up in the mountains also offered fantastic views of Chiang Mai below. It was a great experience.

One of the must-visit places in Chiang Mai. You can enjoy the panoramic view of the city from the temple. It should be a place that is beautiful during the day, but it is also a place that is really beautiful at night. It was really great to experience the sight of Chiang Mai glowing at sunset and the sight of the temples glowing in gold.

Came on a tour but probably could take a Grab or red van to view the sunrise. Great viewpoints. Certainly peaceful with no other tourists around 6am to explore the temple. Can climb 350 or so steps or take a cable car.
