We bought two lobsters across the street and had Mook Manee cook them for us. We also ordered drinks and a Pad Thai dish. They charge money to prepare your lobster and have a bunch of different options (flavors) on how to have the lobster prepared.

We gave it a 4 star rating because the prices were kinda high and the portion size of our Pad Thai was much smaller than the restaurant down the street. Also, we ordered a mint and lime soda, but it was really just a lime juice (no soda) and was extremely bitter (too much lime juice). We had to water it down.

Overall though, the service was great and Workers were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, no complaints there. I would go back here and would recommend it to others, just let them know the prices are high.

The food here is good, with the seafood dipping sauce standing out as excellent. While the prices are a bit high, they're still within an acceptable range. However, finding the parking area can be challenging due to a lack of clear directions. When I called the restaurant for assistance, the staff member who answered wasn’t Thai and couldn’t provide clear instructions. On the plus side, they do offer a shuttle service between the parking area and the restaurant.

I'm now firmly disappointed by and with the Michelin Guide.  All the places that I have been and ate at, as recommended by the Michelin Guide for Phuket, have been disappointing so far, and we have another week to go...  And, Mook Manee has joined my list of being just an average seafood restaurant, with a deck overlooking the Andaman Sea, that failed to please. 😔

The 2 of us sampled a wide selection of seafood worth a total of 6,000 THB, bought from Mook Manee, and cooked by Mook Manee (which if you do, does not come with the extra cooking charge).  I thought the food would come out as mind-blowing.  Alas, not...

At the beginning, the service was great, from the guys introducing their spread of seafood at the front of the restaurant, reserving us a nice spot at the deck overlooking the Andaman Sea, up to the time they recommended how our choices should be cooked.  Thereafter, service was downhill.  It was unfortunate that we did not have experienced staff waiting at our table.  Every simple ask for extra ice for our drinks, to have our over-spilling plates changed, or to get some Thai chilli sauces was a chore, with faces of disdain and displeasure coming back at us.  I felt cheated having to pay the 10% service charge. 🥴

Apart from the plainly-steamed Garoupa, and the oysters, and half of the Phuket 7-colour lobster served as Sashimi, the rest of the seafood was overcooked.  I'm not a seafood connoisseur, however, I don't think the seafood that I had purchased came from the sea, but freshwater farmed.  🤔😏🥴

My personal opinion is to at least enjoy the experience once:  go to the Rawai Seafood Market, enjoy the sight of some interesting never before seen seafood, being haggled incessantly by local vendors, the need for you to bargain fervently (which is a must), and to finally have the neighbouring restaurants cook the seafood that you had purchased, the way you like them done.  😄

Will we return to Mook Manee again?  Nah...  For the money, there are better seafood restaurants back in Patong, Karon, Kata, Phuket Town and so on who did a better job churning out similar seafood that we had chosen.

So.., Rawai Seafood Market and Mook Manee are crossed off our bucket list this trip to Phuket.

Great place by the beach of Rawai. This is one of the biggest restaurant along the Rawai beach. You get to choose your seafood with the price displayed unlike some of the others who don’t place the price tag there. We chose 2 medium size lobster instead of a big one. One grilled with garlic butter and the other with mozzarella cheese. Both were well cooked. The seafood is fresh. Just that it’s actually quite pricy there.

Near Ra Wai beach, there have plenty of fresh seafood, and you can order whatever you want depands on daily price per kg.
You also can see fisher catching fish next to you in the river.
