For years this place has had the reputation of making the best gai yang (North Eastern style barbecue chicken). I've certainly never tasted better but there might be one or two places that are nearly equal. Gai yang can run out at lunch time.

Their other Isan food - somtam, laab (including duck), sausage and sticky rice are just as good so you won't be disappointed if you have missed the chicken that day. The chicken is a Thai breed skinny bird. The Roadrunner, not Foghorn Leghorn 😂

It's the usual sitting on stools, open walls, drink water, low prices type place but with all food I've tried being memorably delicious. I come here every time I visit Khon Kaen and I suggest you do too.

Very tasty roasted chicken. We ordered one plate and couldn't get enough of it. Ended up ordering another plate. Charred on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside. Price as of May 2018 is 160 baht per plate. There are washing basins in the shop.
