Wife and I stayed here a couple weeks ago for 5 nights.  Room was great.  Common areas beautiful.  Pools nice though we happened to be there during some loud construction by the main pool, so went to the other.

Breakfast buffet was off the charts; tremendous selection and very well executed.  Plus very comfortable seating layout, plenty of room between tables.

But why I really wrote this review...  We were really blown away by the genuine warmth of the staff.  We didn't expect that at such a large property, but it was really impressive.  They seemed to take pride in their work and have a true appreciation and respect for their customers.  Thank you to the staff and kudos to the management for that welcome-home feeling.

This was the only hotel we've stayed at in Bangkok so I can't compare to others.  If the prices stay in range (for what you get), we'd absolutely stay here again.

So many plus points: fabulous lobby, smart, attentive, warm and professional staff in every capacity, comfortable, well designed rooms, two swimming pools and several fine dining options.

So far so good.

The location is both a plus (very convenient for getting around, decent amenities and travel options very close to the hotel), but also a minus (the traffic noise from the road bridge makes normal conversation all but impossible on the balconies).

Also, for the number of guests, the pool areas are too small and crowded. The nicer of the two pools is constantly filled with young children, rarely any free loungers, while the larger, less inviting pool, provides only very limited seating.

Everything in the room worked perfectly well, with decent aircon and a quality bathroom, but the fixtures and fittings are all old and a little outdated.

The restaurants are all marvellous, but prohibitively expensive unless you’re travelling on expenses (or an oligarch). Not really a problem when some of Bangkok’s finest street food is available right on the doorstep.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend, though the traffic noise could be an issue for longer stays (not a problem with the doors closed at night, the rooms are mercifully well sound proofed).

The river view is, of course, the key benefit. Never tire of it 😀

I am reviewing this based on my expectations of a 5-star hotel. While the overall experience was pleasant, there were a few aspects that fell short of expectations. First, breakfast service at the NEXT2 cafe was hit and miss. There were two occasions when we requested for oat milk by the side for our coffees but were served fresh milk instead. This happened when it was busy. Second, one of the coffee cups was not replaced with a clean one during the daily cleaning, as the exact same coffee stains were seen in the cup. Third, during checkout, there was not enough staff on standby to help with luggage as our transport came and we had to look around for someone to bring our luggage to the transport. Fourth, while the room was exceptionally clean, there were clear signs of ageing such as the flaking of the bath tub.

That said, the hotel staff were all friendly, polite and professional, as they were always seen smiling and trying their best to go the extra mile. So overall a decent stay and we will still return.

First the good Sides. Location is awesome at the river. You can smoke outside at the Bar next to the river. Rooms are ok. Oldy but goldy if you like that. Like an old Grande Hotel. Subway is close. Nice Swimmingpool Area.
The Bad Side:
Mostly bad Service. They dont see you or run away. If they see you, they bring wrong or sometimes no orders you did.
They bring you the bill while you are eating and we wanted to order more. Strange.
Tables and Chairs often dirty. Presentation very 2 Star Hostel.
High prices at the bar. I ordered a Tea and it was half full in an ordinary mug. Good Food but expensive.
They do security checks ( Airport like) at the door ( good ) but very randomly and other Guests just sneak in ( bad ). Makes no sense at all.

Well overall we wouldn’t come back. You can get better Hotels for lower rates. Like Sheraton, Chatrium, The Standard, Mövenpick, W Hotel and many more. Keep that in mind. The biggest plus is River Location but on the other side there is a nice Ibis Hotel if you need that. Enjoy your stay.

Lovely Hotel, with great location. Everyone was friendly. Reception helpful.

Room was great. Great view of the river. I was pleasantly surprised of the TV volume in the bathroom so I can listen to the news while brushing my teeth.

Kudos to the housekeeping team. They were generous with water and supplied extra towels and pillows when requested promptly. They even provided a bolster for my back.

I had 3 great nights here and sad to leave such a great hotel.
