Kitty and I, along with a group of friends, were on a road trip through Thailand, making our way from Phuket to Krabi. Our friend had planned Thian Leng Bak Kut Teh (เทียนเหล็ง บะกุ๊ดเต๋) as one of our lunch stops, as it had rave reviews on Google and we were all craving some delicious Bak Kut Teh.

We quickly learned that this restaurant is highly acclaimed for its exceptional Bak Kut Teh, a traditional Malaysian pork rib soup.  Thian Leng has even earned a spot in the Michelin Guide for its authentic and flavorful Bak Kut Teh, which is prepared using a secret recipe from Kedah, Malaysia.  As soon as we entered the shop, we saw a display of their Michelin awards, a testament to their consistent quality and excellence from 2021 to 2025.

The soup is slow-cooked with a blend of Chinese herbs and spices, resulting in a rich, aromatic broth that is both savory and medicinal. The pork ribs are incredibly tender and fall off the bone easily, making for a truly satisfying and comforting meal.

We ordered the signature Bak Kut Teh, and it truly lived up to the hype.  The broth was flavorful and aromatic, and the pork ribs were cooked to perfection.  We also couldn't resist trying the pork blood and a comforting porridge, which were both delicious and perfectly complemented the Bak Kut Teh.

The restaurant itself was visited by locals and tourists alike, and the atmosphere was casual and welcoming. The staff was friendly and attentive, and we felt well taken care of.

How did I miss this place? I must have driven by 50 times and never noticed.
The point is, I love Malaysian style Bah Kuh Teh. I like a nice, dark broth, lots of Chinese medicine smell, you know what I'm saying?!

This restaurant is super close the taste as Malaysia Bak Kut Teh. It is one of the best I have in 'Thailand'. The restaurant without any bullsxxt advisor and any chef recommending awards, but it is the 5 stars Bak Kut Teh I will rate by my sharp-tongue of Cantonese, trust me.
