Unique to have an omelette wrapped around crab meat and it wasn't even oily. We tried other dishes, the glass noodle dish was too sweet, but the stir fried mix seafood dish was nice with large prawns. The sauce is nice on large prawns but overpowering on small slices of fish. Overall food is ok.

The wait for the infamous crab omelette took us 5 hours. We arrived at 11:30am and had number 74. Numbers quickened as people dropped off after the long wait. We got our number called at 3:30pm, but only was served at 4:30pm. Is the wait worth it? I wouldn't spend 5 hours waiting for an omelette, but trying once is enough. Every dish is around 1000baht. Is pricier than Gordon Ramsay's Bread Street, but then there is only one Jay Fai. Also, you would be eating with people standing around you taking pictures of the stall and Jay Fai.

Really, not worth it. The food was excellent but, and that’s a huge “but” - I waited FOUR hours in line just to find out that they called my number and I missed it. I literally was there they just didn’t make an effort to make sure I hear them. Then I tried begging them to let me eat but they insisted that I will write my name AGAIN at the end of the list. I needed to wait for another TWO hours to order the food and then an hour more to receive it. It was a total of SEVEN hours to get the food. Apart from that, they were really mean. When I drank water from my personal bottle the waitress told me to stop and put it away because”no drink from outside!” I paid them over 2000 baht why couldn’t they give water for free? Or at least let me drink my own. Also the service is without a smile and they put the food plates on your table like they do you a favour. The restaurant is closed for a half of the week, what makes it enormously overcrowded when open. Really, there are so many other amazing restaurants in Bangkok and of course in a cheaper price. Really really do yourself a favour and do not go there.

The queue is no joke! I went twice before finally getting the chance to eat here. On the first day, I arrived around 5 p.m., but one of the staff informed me that they had already closed for the day. Determined, I returned the next morning and got queue number 50, which meant waiting for two and a half hours. Thankfully, the wait was relatively fast because many people who had taken numbers weren’t around when called, so our turn came sooner.

The system is interesting—they open the queue in multiple rounds throughout the day. Once the first round is full, they put up a “Full” sign, which might make it seem like they’re done for the day. However, after the first round of 70 numbers is called, they reopen the queue for the next round.

The food was worth the wait. Watching Madam Jay Fai cooking tirelessly all day was impressive and humbling—it’s clear she pours her heart and soul into every dish.

Despite some bad reviews, still decided to come. From the last reviews, thought the wait will be 4-5 hours, so that’s what we expected. I guess it’s better to come early morning, like 7.30-8am, or, if you want to come earlier — your choice.

Came at 8am, at 8.30am they let people put name and the number of people under name on the waitlist. After that, had time to go and grab a coffee (wasn’t alone, make sure you’re also with someone, so you can go grab whatever you need at 7/11 which is across the restaurant or nearest coffee shops for coffee). Obviously, don’t bring beverages to the restaurant, it’s not allowed.

At 9am they started letting people inside. From our experience, first, they let people until number 15, number under my name was 16. They gave us menu at 10am to make an order and at 10.15am we were sited inside. By 10.30am we got our first meal which was crab omelette.

Our experience was great, we came prepared for a long wait, which turned out to be not that long. This place was highly recommended by my friends, to try the famous crab omelette. It was SO good! No regrets coming and waiting. Some other places might have the food as good as here, but watching Jay Fai cooking is unique experience!

This place was in my wife’s bucket list. We were a group of three and made a two hour line to eat. The food is well worth it. Very delicious. The crab omelette is amazing. They dont hesitate with the crab. We also ordered fried rice and noodles. Also very tasty. To drink we had orange juice, beer and some sort of iced tea. The place is not that big and nothing fancy about it. The only negative thing that I can mention is the person who took our drink order looked like she was in a bad mood. No smiles. When I tried to ask her a question she just walked off. I can understand why others have given bad reviews about the service. All the other staff was very friendly.
