A truly precious food culture “sai mai thread with roti”, must try when going to Ayutthaya. I dream to have the experience after watching the “Hidden gems” on afn talking about Roti Saimai Mae Pom and my dream comes true. The true traditional atmosphere in the shop. The son and the daughter are friendly. The daughter also let me try to make the Roti that helps me understand that this is a very difficult cooking technique and requires the sensitive feeling and actual experience to become a recognized expert. Roti Saimai is very delicious at Mae Pom. I am so happy with the true authentic experience here.

We were lucky enough to get some roti at Roti Saimai Mae Pom without a reservation – little did we know, we’d be overwhelmed with roti madness! Somehow, we ended up  ordering 10 pcs of roti  It wasn't until later that we realized each bag had 6 rotis... Yep, we walked out with 100 rotis. Not only did we accidentally help the shop sell out, but we also managed to finish them all because they were just that delicious! The owner was super friendly and seemed totally used to people taking pictures and videos, probably because everyone else is just as stunned by their roti haul as we were

This roti saimai has received Bib Gourmand from Michelin Guide Thailand. I want to try. I've always eaten at another restaurant that won the same award. So I want to try and see how this shop is.

But when the restaurant wins the award, the queue is long as a kite tail. We have to reserve for a month. Walk-in to the front of the shop can't eat. Must call to reserve in advance.

But now changed to a new one and accepting reservations in front of the shop only. You can reserve in the morning and in the afternoon. Afternoon reservation because the shop doesn't have customers to do it themselves.

Mae Pom Pang's roti is naturally colored. Put sesame in both white and black. And it's quite softer than the others. Even we can't get it. Delivered in the evening, we keep it for breakfast. The dough is still soft.

Silk threads are not colored as well. Thin, light, I think they are sweet and not sharp taste it silky. Worth to try ❤️

Yummy. Looks sweet but not too sweet. The creep was soft and fresh. The old lady was so friendly and keen on explaining to us what this was made off. Brought back to Bangkok and still taste as good
