It's really up to the viewer to make  something of the visit. My husband was thrilled with the ability to be that close. The decay allows for a person to easily climb  up and walk astride the ancient walls. If you want a written or verbal description or context, forget about it. This is an unadorned ruin with trash surrounding the immediate environs.

Byzantine Walls runs all the way down to the Bosphorus. The wall towards the Topkapi Palace are in much better condition. Some parts are broken and crumbling. Nice to see Historical sites in Istanbul.

They are partially renovated. Some parts reveal the view at the palace
