Check-In / Check-Out Process
Straightforward and streamlined process as I have already paid in advance when the hotel reached out via email in our first correspondence a few weeks prior to my arrival, so kudos to them for that. Special S/O to Isa for kindly welcoming me after a long day of travel and also assisted with my checkout process by the end of my trip - he’s amazing! I also appreciate Tolga for accompanying me to my room, carrying my luggage, and sharing helpful pointers about the hotel.

Hotel Room & Hospitality
I loved my Superior King room, neatly tucked away in a quiet part of the building, and I immediately noticed the pleasant scent of the diffuser upon entering. The thoughtful welcome gifts, including an evil eye charm in a black velvet pouch, a box of chocolates, postcards of The Bank, and a bookmark, added a personal touch that is so appreciated, courtesy of Usman who is the front office manager.

The toiletries provided were L’Occitane which I’m a fan of. I can’t speak much for housekeeping since I kept my room on “Do Not Disturb” 95% of the time. However, I truly appreciated that the staff respected this preference without fail.

Opportunities for Improvement
While the staff consistently strives to ensure a flawless experience, I did notice some small details that could be improved to maintain the five-star standard:

1. Hair Dyer: The in-room hair dryer only had one heat setting, which isn’t ideal. As someone with sensitive hair who avoids high-heat tools, it was disappointing that there was no lower setting. Additionally, the dryer overheated and temporarily stopped working. A higher-quality model with adjustable settings would be a welcomed improvement.
2. Hotel App & User Experience: While the hotel offers an option to request late checkout via the app, the feature feels somewhat disconnected. Upon submitting my request, the app immediately closed it and prompted me to visit reception on the day of checkout—defeating the purpose of having this function available digitally. A more seamless integration, allowing guests to receive confirmation or further instructions within the app, would improve the experience. Additionally, for on-site restaurants and bars, it would be beneficial to have an option to approve charges directly through the app rather than paying at each venue separately. This would streamline the billing process, especially for guests staying at the hotel, and enhance the overall convenience of dining across different establishments.

Breakfast at the Lobby
I opted out of the exclusive breakfast offering, as past reviews mentioned a lack of variety. If you are looking for a quick bite and don’t feel like exploring nearby eateries, this is a convenient alternative, which I tried my first morning as I was famished. The pancakes I ordered, however, were burnt at the bottom. Probably could have been easily rectified by the staff had I told them, but I wasn’t a fan of wasting food.

Serica Restaurant
For my last night, I wanted to check out the rooftop bar but somehow ended up at Serica where I thoroughly enjoyed the dessert with pistachio mousse, tas kadayif with pistachios, and burnt milk ice cream, which were all just chef’s kiss. It was the perfect place and way to end the night!

Overall, while there are areas for improvement, they do not overshadow the positives. My cat and I had a great time, and my critique is based on the same tier of expectations for five-star hotels.

Note: If you’re looking for a place with convenient access to the Sultanahmet and Karaköy area as well as proximity to public transport, consider this establishment.

I had a wonderful stay at The Bank Hotel Istanbul! The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, always ready to assist with anything I needed. The housekeeping team did an exceptional job, keeping everything spotless throughout my stay.

The location is perfect—close to everything, making it very convenient to explore the city.

The only aspect I feel could be improved is the breakfast. While it was decent, it felt repetitive with no variety in the buffet. Additionally, I would have loved to see more authentic Turkish cuisine included in the breakfast options.

Overall, The Bank Hotel Istanbul is a fantastic place to stay, and I’ll definitely return in the future!

Absolutely loved my stay at the Bank Hotel. Staff were very friendly and they take care of their guests. Rooms are beautiful and the location of the hotel is great. It’s next to the bridge that connects you to all the main attractions and there are close trains. Breakfast was good, we were asked our room number the first two days of our stay but the staff became familiar. At the end, the hotel staff was able to call me a taxi back to the airport. Would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Only strange thing about the hotel is they charge you extra for a latte. For the price you pay for the hotel, you’d think it would be complementary with breakfast.

My friend and I stayed at the bank hotel at the end of March.  We had an amazing stay.  The staff was so friendly and the rooms were beautiful with really high ceilings.  The showers were great and the bed was comfortable.

I highly recommend staying at the Bank Hotel when visiting Istanbul.

The moment we walked in, the staff greeted us warmly and even offered a welcome drink while they quickly handled check-in.

The Room

Our room was spacious, beautifully designed, and had a perfect mix of old-world charm and modern comfort. The bed was ridiculously comfortable, and the bathroom—with its marble decor and L’Occitane products—felt like a mini spa. I loved waking up to the natural light coming through the tall windows, and the remote-controlled curtains were a nice touch.

Service & Atmosphere

What really made the stay special was the staff. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, from restaurant recommendations to helping us to book a boat tour. The hotel’s location in Karaköy was perfect—just a short walk to Galata Tower, great cafes, and lively nightlife.

Final Verdict
