Located very near my hotel, I noticed while looking for a store to buy bottled water. I saw some people coming in and out of this big, white building.

Outside of this building are columns and tombs with names and dates. I realized that it is a cemetery! There is a room inside the building with several caskets draped with some beautiful coverings.

Entrance here is FREE. Something different to see, other than Mosques!

This is the rest place of three of the Sultan, Sultan II Mahmud, Sultan Abdul Aziz, Sultan II Abdul Hamid.
Mahmud II (Ottoman Turkish: محمود ثانى‎ Mahmud-u s̠ānī, محمود عدلى Mahmud-u Âdlî; Turkish: İkinci Mahmut; 20 July 1785 – 1 July 1839) was the 30th Sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1808 until his death in 1839.
Abdülaziz (Ottoman Turkish: عبد العزيز / `Abdü’l-`Azīz, Turkish: Abdülaziz; 8 February 1830 – 4 June 1876) was the 32nd Sultan of the Ottoman Empire and reigned between 25 June 1861 and 30 May 1876. He was the son of Sultan Mahmud II and succeeded his brother Abdulmejid I in 1861.
Abdul Hamid II (Ottoman Turkish: عبد الحميد ثانی‎, `Abdü’l-Ḥamīd-i sânî; Turkish: İkinci Abdülhamit; 21 September 1842 – 10 February 1918) was the 34th Sultan of the Ottoman Empire and the last Sultan to exert effective control over the fracturing state.

I am here for the second time. Nice to be here. My first visit was on Dec 2018 and now I am back again in Sep 2019. My purpose is to pay respect to those great leaders who laid their lives for the cause of Islam and specially for Turks. May their Souls rest in peace

His reign is recognized for the extensive administrative, military, and fiscal reforms he instituted, which culminated in the Decree of Tanzimat ("reorganization") that was carried out by his sons Abdulmejid I and Abdülaziz. Often described as "Peter the Great of Turkey",[1] Mahmud's reforms included the 1826 abolition of the conservative Janissary corps, which removed a major obstacle to his and his successors' reforms in the Empire. The reforms he instituted were characterized by political and social changes, which would eventually lead to the birth of the modern Turkish Republic.[2]
Notwithstanding his domestic reforms, Mahmud's reign was also marked by nationalist uprisings in Ottoman-ruled Serbia and Greece, leading to a loss of territory for the Empire following the emergence of an independent Greek state.
In the general structure of the Ottoman Empire, Mahmud's reign was characterized by showing major interest to Westernization; institutions, palace order, daily life, clothing, music and many other areas saw radical reform as the Ottoman Empire opened up to the modernisation

NB. The turbe is closed on Mondays. But you can enter the garden where other people are buried.

A royal burial ground. Sultan Mahmud II was the 30th Ottoman padishah. The complex is octagonal planned and covered with a dome. Some influential families are buried her including the Pashas and the family of the Ottoman dynasty. Free admission and must take shoes off when entering domed area.
