The place is cool with a great decoration. We had some beers and snacks. We tried a different taste: Asna visne which is a specific, sour beer and we liked it a lot. Although we liked the atmosphere, the prices are very high when it comes to drinks. Not sure how long Turkey survives with these prices but sad to see that it’s treated as normal..

Great pub. We were there during the day, about after opening, so there were no other customers except us. Slightly more average beers on tap, but the selection of bottled beers in the fridge is super. Friendly, helpful, attentive staff. Good place!

Where to start? My wife and I are experienced and dedicated craft beer consumers and have travelled widely around the world to craft beer breweries and venues. I read that Craft Beer Lab is the best that Istanbul currently has to offer as far as craft beer bars go,  so off we went on a Tuesday afternoon/ evening.

The venue looks really good - it has two levels, including a large outdoor covered space with heaters. We tried to grab a couple of beers to get started, and that's when it became odd. There is no visible tap list at the bar - you need to access their app via QR code.  The beer decals on the taps don't actually all relate to the beer they are pouring! There is actually no way,  when standing at the bar looking at the taps, to know what they have on each of the taps.

The beer selection is basic - pretty much macro-owned psuedo-craft and Brewdog (who sold their tiny souls years ago - full disclosure I'm an Equity Punk dating back to EFP 3 in 2011).

We ordered food.  The chicken burger turned out to be a chicken patty, not real chicken.  The chips were cold.  I was still eating when the server came and cleared the table,  including the serviette I was still using.  When I remonstrated, he went and got a handful of serviettes and literally threw them on the table and stormed off. Just wow. I would normally have left at this point,  but we hadn't had an opportunity to try any Turkish beers yet,  so to shorten the experience I selected a tasting paddle of Turkish beers and headed to the bar to order them.

Again, wow. It took 10 min and 4 people trying to serve me for them to finally have the right beers in glasses on a paddle - and I had actually pre-written them down and handed the list to them on getting to the bar.  There was just so much confusion,  ineptitude, and lack of method.  My inability to speak Turkish was probably a contributor to this also.  I kept saying,'Is there a problem?' and they kept saying 'no'. What a sh#tshow.

Sadly, the local beers were really poor, and we couldn't finish them - even though they were just tasters. I got a macro local Efes Pils alongside the paddle, and it was far better than the local craft. That said,  it isn't easy to make or sell craft beer in Istanbul, so hopefully the locals will keep working to improve their products and get to an at least reasonable level of quality.

Overall,  basic beer and less than ideal service,  but the venue was good, it was pretty full, the clientele appeared happy,  and they are giving it a go.  This is apparently the best of the local craft beer bars,  so on that basis, I recommend cocktails while in Istanbul!!

This is a late review of my visit on August 21st. This bar is ideal for any craft beer enthusiast as they have a huge selection of local craft beers from multiple breweries. You can order beer flights to try as many of them as you'd like. On top of beers, they also serve beer cocktails as well as regular cocktails.

They also have food. We did not order much, but what we had was decent. The place has an outdoor patio, an outdoor beer garden and the indoor seating. The vibe is cool, we liked how the place was decorated. The only problem we encountered is that we came right at the opening time and there was no English speaking staff, so we had to resort to Google Translate. But it worked in the end.

I will recommend this place if you're into craft beers.

It has a nice atmosphere, they have some very tasty beers, like Gece.
