The best thing is the chips! I was so disappointed in the food and service. My Dallas steak was t cooked properly as I asked Medium Well. My husband ordered the Tomahawk. Both steaks were old or bad quality the steaks were very chewy. I left most of my steak and my husband left half his one. The dried onion flower was so bad that we returned it and the restaurant insisted to serve another better one. The second one was as bad as the first we didn’t even touch it! The surprise is that they included it in the bill in addition to two other starters they served us at the beginning which we didn’t order. We thought they were complimentary so we didn’t object. We had the bill including these two started we didn’t order plus the fried onion, when we explained to the waiter that we are not paying these and we explained why, he brought another waiter and the manager. They all seemed angry talking in Turkish and we didn’t understand what they said but we got uncomfortable. They removed the three items from the bill. The ambiance was nice specially outdoor but not in summer at all. We were family of four 3 adults and 2 teens paid total around 4000 Turkish Lira soft drinks and 2 bottles of water worst steakhouse experience!

Elbet Steakhouse, a brand launched by former staff of Nusr-et, opened its first location in Etiler. While its menu closely resembles that of Nusret Steakhouse, the quality doesn't quite measure up.

Literally the best in town 💯
Starting from the fresh meat to the variety of great desserts
The place is very clean (they even give you toothbrushes and dental floss when you enter the toilet )
I can’t come to Istanbul without a visit to elbet
The atmosphere is just really nice also the owner of the restaurant and the staff are super friendly !
The quality of the meat there is on another level
I would definitely recommend it to everyone I know!!!! Seriously 10/10!!!

Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Hype

Elbet Steakhouse in Etiler was a chaotic experience from start to finish. While I wouldn’t describe it as cramped, the atmosphere was far from relaxed. The restaurant was packed, and the movement around us was nonstop—staff rushing, people standing right next to tables waiting for their turn, and what felt like an overwhelming yet somehow understaffed environment. It honestly felt more like a club than a high-end steakhouse.

Service: Slow, Uncoordinated, and Frustrating

The service was one of the biggest letdowns. We ordered drinks, and while my partner’s arrived, mine never came. We patiently waited, assuming a delay, but after 10 minutes (and noticing others who arrived later already enjoying their drinks), we asked about it. The server admitted they had messed up my order and would remake it. I’ve bartended before, and if you mess up a drink—especially something as straightforward as an Old Fashioned—it shouldn’t take long to fix.

Nearly an hour after ordering, the drink finally arrived—and it wasn’t even an Old Fashioned. It was something entirely different. At that point, I gave up, flagged the server again, and just asked for a glass of red wine. The wine was fantastic, but the pour was so small it was gone in just a few sips—not what you’d expect from a place like this.

To add to the frustration, multiple incorrect dishes were brought to our table, and we saw other tables dealing with the same issue. They also charged us for two bottles of water when we only had one—something I later noticed is a recurring complaint in other reviews. Additionally, we were initially charged for items we didn’t order, which we had to fix before paying.

What disappointed me most was that after all of this, they didn’t even offer to comp the incorrect drink or make any gesture to acknowledge the poor experience. I didn’t bother asking—I just wanted to leave.

The Food: A Mixed Bag

The one highlight was the steak. Mine was perfectly cooked with an incredible crust—probably the best crust I’ve had on a steak in Turkey. However, I’ve had better and more tender steaks at other steakhouses nearby, like By Ulus Steakhouse, which offers similar or even slightly lower prices with a far better dining experience. My partner loved her steak, but the salad was small, and the overall coordination of the meal felt off.

Final Thoughts
•	If you’re looking for great steak in Istanbul, I’d highly recommend By Ulus Steakhouse over Elbet. It’s the closest I’ve found to top-tier NYC steakhouses.
•	The chaotic atmosphere, slow service, and incorrect charges made for a frustrating experience.
•	The restaurant is not a place for cocktails—if they don’t have an Old Fashioned on the menu and can’t even make one properly, that says a lot.
•	The staff was clearly overwhelmed, and while our waiter was nice, he was set up for failure by the disorganized environment.

I wouldn’t return for a formal dinner, but maybe a weekday visit for a burger and fries could be worth trying. For the price and reputation, though, Elbet was a disappointment, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Starters are ok.
They put food on your table- if you do not refuse- they charge you.
Steak came rare - we asked for medium.
One dish was different- they said we should try it.
Bill came overcharged...they fixed it.
Not sure I can recommend.
A friend who took us said they're usually better...
