We arrive way early than our check in time. The staff were sooooo great with us. Gave us directions, a nice coffee. The room is excellent, the hotel is in a great location, all installations are new, very well decorated, amazing staff. I’d for sure stay here any time soon. The shower soap the offer it’s really nice quality. There’s free water as you need and the breakfast…. One of the bests I ever had in a hotel.

First of all, I’ve been amazed by the interior design of the hotel and how they’ve combined the modern design with the traditional one. Transportation is quiet easy and straightforward since it is located close to one of the most famous streets in Istanbul. I’d highly recommend the Superior Studio if you are planning to stay as 2 people, room is quiet spacious and you have all the amenities you’d need inside. I’d also give 10/10 for the cleanliness of the room and the whole facility actually. Also all staff was exceptional with their friendly and helpful attitude. Lastly, breakfast was quiet tasty and there was nothing to be complained about. I’d like to thank all the staff and management of Hammamhane.

Loved everything in this unique hotel! Top-notch location, super cozy and clean apartment, delicious breakfast and the most caring and kind staff. Istanbul is a city worth multiple visits and I'd definitely stay here every time!

Visually, one of the loveliest hotel apartment units I’ve stayed at as a solo traveller around the world. I loved the unit’s decor and design. Right in the heart of Çukurcuma,15 min walk to Taksim square. Amazing location on the European side of Istanbul. So many lovely restaurants, shops and more within walking distance. The kitchen/breakfast staff were so sweet in the mornings and I looked forward to breakfast everyday.

Unfortunately the hotel desk staff made me feel unwelcome. Every time I entered the hotel to go to my room during the week (July 2024), I was asked if I was lost and looking for the hammam. There is a hammam attached to the hotel which I can’t speak on because it didn’t interest me, I visited other ones. To me the implication was there was NO WAY I could be staying at the hotel, as the hammam is less expensive than many in Istanbul but the hotel is not for Istanbul. The front desk staff looked embarrassed each time I told them I was not lost, and was a guest on multiple occasions. I can’t speak for other guests but I did not observe this exchange happen to other guests.

I found it unusual that no deposit or payment was required at check in, most hotels at the very least take a deposit when you check in. I did not have a deposit taken and I was not asked to pay anything when I was checked in. I assumed that maybe that was not culturally the norm in Istanbul as it was my first time visiting. It was the hotel’s job as far as I’m concerned to collect payment.

Toward the end of the stay I was accosted at 1am for not paying for my hotel stay because I wasn’t charged 5 days in. An attempt had been made on my credit card that didn’t go through as I had assumed I would pay when I left and I was using a pay as you go credit card in Istanbul given my bank has a lot of security around fraud in Istanbul.

The hotel was in email contact with me and called me every morning to ask about housekeeping. While I understand payment was expected to be accosted like a criminal in the middle of the night was disturbing and very unprofessional. I was told that my stay was a month’s salary in Istanbul and so that’s why I was being asked in the middle of the night. A poor excuse.

I guess if you’re not a dark skinned Black woman travelling alone, you probably will have a nice customer service experience at Hammamhane. I certainly did not and would never return to this hotel based on the way I was treated and even though the unit was absolutely gorgeous.

Great  place, newly  renovated and great service. Efe and Berat and the reception team where very helpful and kind. The district is perfect to explore the main attractions. Hammam experience was very special, too. We can highly recommend this hotel!
