Kum Saati is a live blues bar located at famous Asmali Mescit district of Istanbul. Various local blues bands play after 10pm, usually Fridays & weekends. I dropped by on a Friday night and even at that day the bar was not very crowded. So you can listen to good and authentic blues music in a cozy and relaxed atmosphere.
I have not tasted the bar though, took only a beer. However, I found it surprising that they did not serve espresso after a certain time. I do not understand why. The rest was good, especially the atmosphere. There were several asians, arabs and other tourists dancing along locals. The night’s group members were really from 70’s by age :) and they played very good covers of the same era that night. I liked them!
You may spare a couple of hours around midnight while you are in the district and listen to oldies.

Maybe I was the only person in the bar who didn’t speak Turkish but it didn’t matter. Point at the draft beer tap, indicate large mug, and enjoy the show. After 5 days in Istanbul, this was perhaps the best.

Being new to the city, I wasn't really sure which spot to go to for live music. Being a Blues fan, I figured I'll give this place a try. It's a small venue, but they've got a very loyal crowd! I went on a Saturday night and the musicians who were performing were extremely skilled. If you're a Blues fan and you want to have a good time in Istanbul, I'd definitely suggest this place!

The coolest place in Istanbul. The best music indeed.  This music you can't find it everywhere. Cozy and nice atmosphere,  affordable prices. So I really recommend to visit this pub at least once, when you get in Istanbul.
