The restaurant is located in the heart of Istanbul. The food was extremely tasty and perfectly cooked. The service was honestly very attentive, fast, and precise, even with a very crowded and busy restaurant. I would recommend it to taste local Turkish food and cuisine. Desserts were very good and rich in flavours.

The Michelin posters outside caught our eye so we decided to pop in for a late lunch as the prices seemed reasonable.

We were seated quickly without a reservation.

The decor is a bit dated but acceptable. The window seats are probably the best spots as you get a nice view of the bosphorus.

The services was fairly fast although a bit cold/brash but acceptable.

In terms of the food 2 mains, 1 dessert and 2 drinks came to 2100+ lira. The lamb meatballs on the bagel was a bit of a small portion and average in terms of taste. The dessert was nice. The sea bass was excellent. I am not sure that it is deserving of a bib goumand however.

I don’t know why reviewers complain about this not being up to a Michelin Star: it is not rated as a 1-4 star restaurant. Do your homework, reviewers: it’s a Bib Gourmand rating! We went on a Thursday afternoon without a reservation. We had a room with a view of the Bosporus that appeared to be for foreigners / tourists (from listening to the languages in the room). We ordered a lot of small plates, most very good except for the artichoke dish which was bland and the green bean dish too oily. Lunch came to about $53 USD with coffee and glass of wine and 2 bottles of water. My female companion by marriage found the servers to be misogynistic towards women. As a man I was oblivious to any such behavior as my seat as usual faced the wall.

Pandeli is a hidden gem located on the second floor of the Egyptian Bazaar (Spice Market) in Istanbul. We stumbled upon it by accident and were delighted to discover it has a Michelin star for 2023 and 2024, so we decided to enter.

The staff was very friendly and spoke English. We started with some meze and salads, which were excellent. We ordered the salad with pomegranate and arugula twice because we loved it so much. For the main course, I had lamb cutlets that were soft, tender, and juicy.

For dessert, we enjoyed ice cream and bread soaked in sour cherry sherbet with kaymak on top, both of which were outstanding. We finished our meal with Turkish coffee.

I highly recommend this restaurant for any meal—breakfast, lunch, or dinner!
