If you're a fan of chee cheong fun, you’re going to love this Vietnamese dish that reminds you of it in the best way.

The thin, delicate rice skin is the perfect wrap, filled with a flavorful blend of minced pork and black fungus that creates a savory, slightly earthy filling. Each bite has that satisfying balance of tender and chewy, with the richness of the pork and the subtle crunch of the black fungus.

It was so good, I went back twice within two days! It’s one of those dishes that hooks you after the first taste, and I couldn't resist going for round two to enjoy it all over again.

I’ve been here a couple of times and the quality of the banh cuon really depends on who’s making it. The lady in this photo makes it very well. The other lady I had made it very average. I would pass on this if you don’t see the lady pictured working.

Servers have attitude and are moody. I’m a Viet Kieu and I was with my western friend and we paid 120K for the following (I probably got tourist prices but sharing it here anyway):
1 x banh cuon thit (with meat)
1 x banh cuon trung tai (runny egg with meat)
1 x banh cuon trung tai, không thịt (runny egg no meat)
1 x cha (Vietnamese ham)
1 x lap suong (Chinese sausage)
2 x tra da (ice tea)

I’m happy to pay a premium if the lady who makes it good is working.  Order your drinks in the beginning as they sometimes take a while to come.

Be aware there are shoe shining men hovering in this area because the place is popular.

This was my first time having banh cuon and it was a big hit for me. I like that they provide you with garlic, herbs, and chilis to customize your fish sauce with. I also ordered the sausage on the side and it really enhanced the meal overall. I'd like to come back again.
