Wow this is a place to visit for anyone that loves food. When you enter, if you are lucky, like we were, you sit and wait for your table. You get to watch the chefs cook, I felt it was a great privilege. The food was some of the best food I have ever tried. Wine pairing was just as good. The story telling with the food just enhanced it. I could write paragraph on paragraph on how good it was.

We ate here on the second night of a 4 week holiday travelling Asia. We done lots of research and made sure we ate in a some of the nice restaurants we could find and I tell you this is one of the very best highlights.

All I can say is if you go to Hanoi book to eat here!!! Everything about it was amazing.

Overall, I had a nice experience dining at Chapter. The staff was attentive, friendly, and efficient. The ‘Earth’ tasting menu was unique and I appreciated the in-depth exploration of Northern Vietnamese flavors. The postcards presented with each dish describing the ingredient were a nice touch. I also thought the wine pairing was fantastic and complemented the food nicely. The presentation was stunning and overwhelmingly, I really enjoyed the food.

Two reasons why I couldn’t give this review 4 or 5 stars:

1) I think the pigeon dish needs some tweaking. I know this is an unusual ingredient, especially for certain palates, but I did not think this dish tasted good. The two smaller dishes accompanying the pigeon breast (and also containing pigeon) were very tasty, but I don’t think the pigeon breast was worthy of a main course.

2) I found a hard piece of plastic in my first dessert. I pointed it out to the staff immediately and they did offer to refill my last wine pairing twice, but never mentioned it again. For a restaurant of this caliber and price, this was disappointing. I also would have appreciated a gesture to acknowledge it; for example, taking off the charge for water on my bill.

I have been really lucky to experience some fantastic restaurants around the world, but Chapter Dining is one of my favorites. My boyfriend and I didn't have reservations, but the staff was kind and accommodating. As soon as you walk into the restaurant, you are captivated by the chefs in the open kitchen—you truly get to see these artists at work! The decor is chic, modern, and exudes a very cool vibe. We opted for the tasting menu with the alcohol pairing. I have to say that the price is well worth the experience! We were so full by the time dessert arrived, we didn't know if we could finish it all lol. The menu changes every few months, showcasing seasonal ingredients in an elevated way. Being Vietnamese-American, I truly appreciated how the chef translated dishes I've had my entire life and brought them new life! As you can see, the dishes are absolutely beautiful, and even more fascinating, each course has a story. It's truly an immersive experience!

We had a wonderful evening at chapter on Christmas Eve. We had the earth call menu, which was delicious. The restaurant accommodated the request for a gluten-free menu for one person. Unfortunately, not all of the components of some courses could be eaten, but it was still a very good dinner experience. The alcoholic drinks went very well with the dishes and the service was very attentive. We definitely recommend the restaurant for a nice evening.

We had a fantastic experience at Chapter dining Hanoi. We found the restaurant by accident when passing through the street, and so glad we did! The menu specialises on Northern Vietnam cuisine and the ingredients are sourced from different regions of north Vietnam.  Every single dish we tried was amazing, the staff was incredible and attentive, and presented us with an explanation card for the origin and uniqueness of the ingredients of each dish. We highly recommend this restaurant, and
in our view the restaurant really deserves a Michelin star.
