My partner and I had a really nice dinner at the bar at The Gidley. My favourite was the fried pickles and my partner enjoyed the burger. Great drinks and a nice atmosphere. We were lucky enough to walk in and find a table too. Would love to come again.

If you like ribeyes, burgers and martini’s then you’ll never be disappointed at The Gidley. Sister venue to Bistecca, it channels the atmosphere of a Manhattan style underground steakhouse. The ambience is one that I’ll never get sick of. Can’t wait to visit again!

Wonderful place for an award winning burger. Place decor had class and a 1930s New York feel. The staff was friendly and knew their drinks. Had their famous Gidley burger. The burger patty was top quality, very beefy and had a nice char. Had it paired with their recommended wine. This really complimented the burger.

The Gidley Burger was absolutely delicious - the patty, the sauce, the bun - we loved every part of it! 😋 The service was excellent too - we didn’t expect the staff to help us cut the burger as part of presenting the burger to us, it made the whole experience even more special! TY!

The Gidley: Trendy Bar & Restaurant in Sydney

Vi ställde larmen och bokningen gjordes 6 veckor ut. Vi besökte som en grupp vänner. Vi beställde alla styckningsdelar, där den kollektiva favoriten var revbensögat på benet. Utsökt! Sidorna var bra (även om på den lilla sidan) . Köttet i hamburgaren var fantastiskt (De importerar även sina pickles från NY). Den varma bageln var det bästa jag ätit. Hela atmosfären var lynnig och charmig (mycket svagt ljus). Deras vinlista var omfattande (skulle gärna se fler australiska viner på listan, från kallare klimat). Min enda konstruktiva feedback var att vår servitris kunde ha varit mer vänlig. Jag såg inte ett leende en enda gång, och ibland kändes det mycket kvavt och formellt med en servitris som även ifrågasätter vår beställning (t.ex. måste få förrätter eftersom elnätet kan ta 45 minuter). Annars en mycket trevlig kväll och skulle gärna återvända för att äta det där revbensögat igen!

Fantastisk steak house med full erfarenhet. Det är ganska unikt att de samlar in dina mobiltelefoner för att se till att du njuter av maten och samtalet med dina vänner här. Men om du vill ha några bilder tar personalen dem mer än gärna. Angående biffen så är den så god. Jag är helt mållös när jag äter dem. Den torra - åldrade nysläppta biffen är bra eftersom de inte fanns på online-menyn ännu (eftersom engelska är mitt andra språk kan jag inte komma ihåg det exakta namnet på den, men det var under Spinalis på menyn om du vill kolla).

Detta var svårt att granska, vissa aspekter var välkomna andra inte. Ingången är inte väl skyltad, nerför några trappor ringer klockan. Är det här en del av den hemliga lockelsen? Restaurangen är mycket mörk och jag välkomnar ingen telefon politik mestadels eftersom någon piska ut sin telefon i mörkret skulle vara mycket irriterande med omgivande telefonljus. Maten var välsmakande, riktig grill smak hela men high end middag var det inte. Vinlistan var alldeles för dyr. Mycket svårt att hitta något av rimligt värde. Vi hade ett bråkigt bord med 4 unga stadshandlare bredvid oss. Jag önskade att de hade sina telefoner med sig när deras högljudda galna prat var gitter . När de gick kom en servitris med disktrasa och sprayflaska för att städa bordet medan hon klängde över banketten i sina skor. Kändes malplacerad i en high end restaurang. Bordet vänder ganska högt tror jag.

Vi kom för hamburgaren och det var bra! Det är en dubbelburgare med en rik, krämig amerikansk ost som smälts ovanpå och serveras med en rostad mjölk brioche bulle. Valfritt ägg eller bacon finns. Om du någonsin har ätit Au Cheval (Chicago) eller 4 Charles (NYC) , kommer denna burgare smaka mycket likt. Sammantaget är det en vinnare och bör vara på varje burgare älskares lista

Min man och jag besökte Gidley på vår smekmånad. Teamet fick oss att känna sig speciella genom att ge ett gratis glas champagne. Maten var utsökt och atmosfären var mycket chic. Trots restaurangen verkar mycket tjusiga, vår servitris var super snäll och hjälpte oss att känna sig bekväma och tillfreds. De tar era telefoner medan ni äter i matsalen, men jag njöt av den upplevelsen. Vi åt ostron, världsberömda hamburgare och specialbiff. Allt var utsökt.

Lysande. Började med en Negroni i loungen som väntar de andra, vänta personal utmärkt, Negroni fantastiskt. Olika stycken kött fantastiskt (Spinalis urvalet av dem) och en utmärkt vinlista (Aust + Overseas) med bra råd från Sommelier Greg. Mac & Cheese-sida - vem hade tänkt? ! ? Den bakade ostkakan var en liten himmelbit. Detta är en bra fynd för Sydney!

Mitt i CBD är denna restaurang väl dold. Kom som en grupp på 5 som var perfekt för en monter. Ostron, biffar att dela, olika sidor, fantastiska viner och pekannötkakan. Jag kan uppskatta NYC-stämningen. Definitivt inte en plats för en vegan!

Detta är mitt andra besök i Gidley med min fru under de senaste 2 månaderna. Jag har beslutat att fortsätta skriva recensionen efter en fantastisk matupplevelse under det första besöket för att säkerställa att det inte bara är en blixt i pannan på en nyöppnad restaurang (tror att den har öppnats i cirka 4-5 månader). Om du älskar det amerikanska grillkonceptet kan du inte gå förbi Gidley. Även om matmenyn bara är en sida, hittar jag valet av förrätt, elnät och sidor precis rätt. Jag älskar mitt nötkött och har provat olika grillar i Australien och medan utomlands är Gidley platsen för mig. Spinalis är mitt val, även om min fru kan avsluta hela plattan med rostbiff (engelska snitt - 300 gram rent kött) av sig själv. Vi fick höra att Gidley är den enda restaurangen i Australien som erbjuder detta köttstycke. Spinalis är vackert beredd, öm, saftig, välsmakande och med den rökiga smaken. Bortsett från nötkött erbjuder de andra kött- eller vegetariska rätter. Vi har provat både fisken och kycklingen och de är bra. Valet av förrätt är också väldigt smaskigt. Vi har provat Diamond musslor, krabba tårta och räkor cocktail, och de är bra. En sak att notera är deras nybakade bagel, som erbjöds i stället för bröd och är till komplement till Gidley. Det är så bra, jag kan gå och bara ha det som min måltid. Till dessert har vi provat pecannakakakan och ostkakan. Medan de är en tillfredsställande finish på en måltid, är elnätet och förrätter fortfarande högsta av mina preferenser. Förutom maten erbjuder Gidley ett brett urval av vin och cocktail. Tjänsten är vänlig, professionell och effektiv, vilket hjälper till att bidra till en avkopplande och kausal matupplevelse. Om du är en som behöver underhållas av din mobiltelefon kanske Gidley inte är för dig. Eftersom den vänliga värdinnan samlar in din mobiltelefon efter att ha sittat och du får den bara tillbaka efter måltiden. Så du måste njuta av att prata med dina kamrater. Tyvärr, jag kan inte bifoga något foto eftersom min telefon togs bort.

Jag kunde inte låta bli att jämföra restaurangen med Bistecca eftersom de båda ingår i samma familj. Det enda skälet till att jag ger en 4 över en 5 är att Bistecca var så mycket mer på plats med biffen. Tjänsten och alla andra rätter var alla på rätt plats - Banana Split Old Fashioned var en utmärkt cocktail! Skulle återvända för att prova 12 timmar långsam kokta medium sällsynt biff!

Få inte panik, du får tillbaka telefonen innan du lämnar bra idé. Framsidan av huspersonalen är uppmärksam och kunniga om alla saker mat såväl som drycker. Köket stöds av teamet inom servicearealer och menyn är tät men för de flesta smaker, sidorna är fantastiska. Portioner ska delas och generösa så välj klokt. Drycker och vinlistan är extremt omfattande och servicen är utmärkt. Definitivt värt ett besök och än du för en härlig måltid.
