Went to try their KOI Experiential course on our date night. It was our first time. Greeted through the dessert bar by one of the brothers 😊🖐🏻 and shown to the "chef table" where there were already a few people enjoying their Experiental course.

We liked every single dish though we tried to remember what each of the elements were mentioned by the lovely ladies. The courses are literally a "paired" savoury and sweet dessert but they def work. What a work of art!

Will come back and try their other season menu next time.

I decided to visit KOI Dessert Bar after a friend, knowing I was heading to Sydney, asked her local friend for recommendations. She told me this place was a must-try.

Note: The entrance is on the dessert side.

The Dessert Dining Menu is AUD 157.33 (visa fees) = SGD 138.55 for five courses, each consisting of one dessert, one savory snack, and one non-alcoholic drink. I found it to be quite filling—even for someone with a big appetite.

My only issue was that most of the drinks leaned toward the sour side, which isn’t to my taste.

Favorites:

Savoury: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th
Dessert: 1st, 2nd, 4th
Drink: 2nd

Dish Highlights:

1st course: The savoury scallop pebbles hidden in the dessert were a fun surprise—very creative.

2nd course: I never thought I’d enjoy eating vegetables, but this dish proved me wrong. The tea leaf garland on the drink was also a nice touch.

3rd course: The fried mochi with cheese filling was simple yet delicious.

4th course: I have no idea what was inside the savoury dish, but it was packed with umami. The dessert featured a Bing Tang Hulu-style candy gloss, which I really liked.

5th course: Raw wagyu—what’s not to love?

Overall, it was a unique and well-thought-out experience.

Ever since I watched Master Chef in 2015 & discovered that Chef Reynold has opened a dessert bar in Sydney, I have been wanting to go and try his creations. This dream finally became a reality when I took my sister, aunty, and cousin recently to Sydney.

We ordered: Latte, Cappucino, Jasmine Bliss, Mango Yuzu, Carlton, and White Peach.

It was so good that we had a chance to taste these 4 x delicious mini cakes. They were so delicious, and honestly, I feel bad eating them coz they were really pretty.

Service: The person who greeted us when we came in also served us with all our orders. Friendly and efficient.

First time trying KOI cakes in Sydney! There is so many flavour combinations it is hard to just pick a few. We had the green tea rose and Yama. I love how light and floral the green tea rose cake was and the richness of the hazelnut and orange in the Yama cake was lovely. Definitely keen to try more of the cakes in the future.

Looks like the prices have gone up since last time I visited about a year ago. Still delicious and well made. Good coffee as well. Plenty of seats available on a Sunday afternoon and service with a smile.
