First impression was amazing. Then 20 minutes passed and it started to change. The live music create a beautiful atmosphere and the cocktail menu is divine. However, we ordered the Wednesday mussels & fries and was utterly disappointed. It was so so salty, some overcooked, some undercooked, not washed, cracked shell. The sauce was misleading as the menu has commas giving me the impression of the mussels sitting in a garlic broth instead of a tomato sauce… I would’ve sent it back but unfortunately no one stopped to ask. I found the staff friendly enough, but watching the bartender skull back drinks behind the bar instead of loading a dishwasher with the several dirty glasses on the bar side left a bad taste. I recommend going just for drinks, as there is a flavour for everyone - the cocktails are very old fashioned and very strong so be aware you’ll be getting straight spirits with sugar so a hangover sign up even after 2 - I’d say that’s good value 😉! Very cool atmosphere, you do feel like you’re stepping through a time portal.

I ended up arriving lateish to this venue, around 10pm, and was waiting for a friend to join. It was a Tuesday and the kitchen closes at 10:30 which was quite a surprise. I ordered some food last minute for my friend and I to share and the prawns were amazing. The other dish, the Terrine was a bit interesting but not at all bad.
The cocktails were 10/10.
I got the old fashioned #4 and 😯 it was one of the best drinks I have ever tasted or seen. A combination I never would have thought of in the style of an old fashioned but it worked and worked well.
My friend loved their grasshopper drink with a matcha and pistachio cream on top.

All in all I cannot wait to go back.

What a great spot. Very chill with great vibes. Great pick for a classy start to an evening in this part of town. Quick GnT for me and off to dinner. Could have stayed longer.

Really lovely bar with a great drinks menu.
I don’t drink alcohol so they whipped me up an amazing mocktail (they even gave me the recipe)
Just wanted to shout out Jamie, he went above and beyond both on the phone while making the booking and while we were there.
We will definitely be coming back.

One of my favourite intimate cocktail bars for a drink, a meal or a little date night. Cocktails are excellent, food is nice and reasonably priced, service is generally on point and the ambience is relaxed but cool. The crowd is a very mixed bag but I find myself liking this venue.

GENTRIFICATION VOM PÅ VARJE CORNER. Så vad har vi kvar med? Om du är vit med lite pengar kommer du utan tvekan ha några trevliga drinkar här på The Roosevelt. Personalen är ung och verkar oerfaren, men gör fortfarande en ansträngning. Cocktails var ganska prissatta och imponerande, men inte spektakulära i smak. Jag menar, partier på menyn verkar vara en vridning på Negroni, och vad som helst - vi kan blanda oss själva på taket på 2 minuter för $ 3. Plats ser snygg ut. Med vår grupp på 12 personer bokade vi balsalen / baren och hade en god gammal tid med isen i bordet. Roman, antar jag. Men elefanten i rummet är att det här är en vit personplats. D cor och utseendet på denna restaurang är underbar, och vi hade bra hörnplats som var mysig och bekväm. Okej, liksom många Potts Point-restauranger och barer, var ljudnivån outhärdlig, även om servitrisen klarade ner musiken när vi först kom in när vi frågade artigt. En skam eftersom biffen var bra och tjänsten var utmärkt. Tyvärr satt vi bredvid baren och var tvungna att utstå att lyssna på konversationen av en högljudd grupp unga män i närheten. Jag inser att dessa ställen i grund och botten är en plats att dricka och jag har inget problem med det här, men när du marknadsför dig själv som god mat, tror jag att du måste överväga att de som kommer äter en måltid där och önskar att prata med sin partner. Kanske nästa gång musiken kommer tonas ner och vi sitter i den andra änden av rummet bort från baren, skulle vi verkligen vilja dröja längre.

Vi har haft våra sista två julpartier på The Roosevelt och jag kunde inte prata tillräckligt mycket om allt som Naomi och hennes lag gör. Maten är otroligt, cocktails är toppdrag och service är oöverträffad. The Monroe Room är ett fantastiskt utrymme, perfekt för att hålla allt från en företagsevenemang eller middag till drycker med vänner och familj. Att organisera båda händelserna med Naomi var otroligt enkelt, alla problem eller förändringar som uppstod behandlades genast med en lösning som fungerade för båda parter. Jag skulle rekommendera The Roosevelt till någon annan.

Vi har nyligen haft en företagsfunktion där och efter att ha fått en ölflaska från servitören 1 frågade jag honom: "Kan jag få ett glas med det tack" Svar: "Vi hanterar glasögon ikväll så jag kan inte ge dig en". Servitör 2 som märker rörelsen av mina ögon pannan överlämnar ett nytt glas. . . av vin. Senare frågade en kollega en förfriskning om en Coca-Cola och betjänades en platt med flera isbitar, som om de mirakulöst skulle omvandla sig i svampbubblor om några sekunder. . . Inte bra ! För det tredje, och därför skriver jag idag som ett förebyggande budskap till alla, när jag beställer en annan öl, som fortfarande håller mitt ursprungliga vinglas, här är det, jag häller lite av det i glaset och märkte lite skum, jag smakar det, Det är gammalt, helt inaktuellt! ! ! Andra titt på flaskan avslöjade en halvhackad övre del med flera skarpa glasögon redo att skicka dig till intensivvård ett tag. Trevligt sätt att fira slutet av året. Slutligen speciellt omnämnande till cocktail "mästare" som inte kunde hjälpa svärva vartannat meningar med F. . ord galore, mycket stilrena. Sammanfattning: Skrämmande, Undvik till varje pris.

Efter vår dåliga behandling på systerbaren Eau de Vie i Darlinghurst var vi lite oroliga över att gå till Roosevelt. Men tjänsten här är som krita och ost. Personalen på Roosevelt var alla leenden och hålls frågar oss om vi behövde en annan drink eller lite mer mat (prova får ost på ost tallrik YUM!) All personal var bra humoured och visste deras grejer. Trots att det var upptagen var ingen av personalen för upptagen att chatta eller svara på frågor. En stor rop ut till chefen Naomi som har gjort ett fantastiskt jobb med rekrytering, bra cocktails och vi kan inte vänta med att gå tillbaka och prova några av de mer stora maten på menyn. Det finns gott om barer i Sydney som kan ta ett blad ut ur Roosevelts bok när det gäller service.

Vi bokade en söndagslunch för 10 gäster och erfarenheten var felfri, från den första utredningen till evenemangets dag. Naomi var hjälpsam och härlig att hantera. Hon svarade på mina e-post / telefonsamtal professionellt och ingenting var för mycket besvär. Roosevelt kan erbjuda utbildningskurser till några av de andra restaurangerna i området. Maten var utsökt (ett urval av tre olika roster). Utmärkt cocktails (uppfinningsrik och smart) och mycket bra vinlista. Underbar 1920 s inredning. Bra atmosfär förstärkt av vänlig och uppmärksam personal. Det var särskilt användbart att de var glada att köra separata flikar för varje person så att alla kunde betala separat. Vi ser fram emot att återvända!
