I think it's fair to say boutique but it's such a stretch to say 5 stars. No restaurant. Limited breakfast. The price and experience don't match.  Staff always felt stressed and like your arrival, departure and requests were all a bit annoying. Didn't feel welcome which I think is really important in what feels like a very small space. I think probably management needs to give them more support, maybe understaffed. Not sure. The decor is really nice and location is awesome but the vibe is off. I wouldn't stay again. Rooms are definitely small. No way to have two suitcases open. bed was comfy, room cleaning was great.

We spent 2 nights here and from the moment we walked in there was a positive vibe to this boutique hotel with the staff welcoming us. The room was bright, clean and the bed so comfy. Our balcony was huge to sit out and relax.

We had cocktails before going out for dinner which were served with complimentary nuts and little quiches which were a nice touch. Also, those cocktails were delicious and my partner loved the old fashioned.

Breakfast was continental style and yummy. Great transport close by to travel into the CBD. There are some fantastic bars and restaurants minutes from the hotel.
Thanks to the staff for making our stay memorable.

202 Elizabeth is a small, beautiful, and truly special hotel in the heart of Surry Hills—and has quickly become our go-to spot whenever we’re in Sydney. We’ve already stayed here three times during our longer trip through Australia, and after experiencing many hotels in Sydney, Melbourne, and beyond, we can honestly say: this one stands out.

It’s not your typical boutique hotel with generic design—it’s full of warmth, charm, and thoughtful details. From the gorgeous wooden staircase (which smells wonderfully of real wood!) to the peaceful little courtyard, everything feels personal and welcoming. One absolute highlight: breakfast is included—something surprisingly rare in Australian city hotels. And not just any breakfast: fresh pastries (including actually good croissants!), a lovely spread, and most importantly, a proper barista-style Flat White, which you can enjoy in the courtyard, feeling more like you’re in a local café than a hotel.

The atmosphere, the details, the quality—especially at this price point—make it unbeatable. From now on, this will always be our first choice in Sydney.

I have stayed a few times now and I will keep going back. The people are amazing and kind. The cleaning is immaculate. It's in the heart of Sydney, right by the train station. I rarely hear anything through the walls so I always get a good sleep.

Lovely stay!
From check in (which was a breeze), to check out. All the staff super friendly and hope they get a nice break after this busy period! ☺️
Our room was spacious and comfortable. Quirky shape due to the building design.
Lovely styling, little work desk if needed. Mini bar, fridge and open wardrobe.

The breakfast was delicious and had everything we needed. Toast (butter, various spreads including avocado), croissants, muffins, fresh fruit, yoghurt, granola, fresh orange juice, hot drinks (coffee, hot chocolate).

Beautiful rooftop deck area with chairs, tables and some lounging bean bags.
Great spot for a drink and to relax!

Nice space. Woman behind counter is kinda stupid (told her I didn't eat sugar, they she tried to sell me some fig bar and asked if I wanted honey for my tea). Green tea was gross and grassy. Music was grade C indie rock at too high a volume, and I left a few minutes after I got my tea. Worst coffee shop experience I've had in Surry Hills. I recommend Sample Coffee, Bourke Street Bakery, Four Ate Five, Cuckoo Callay which are all a short walk from Frothy (as well as many others I haven't even tried yet. Avoid!
