Only downside to this place was the stairs 😅 but was such an amazing spot!! Staff were really helpful and cocktails were amazing!! Love the little garnishes too like a mini meringue and croissant. Didn’t get a photo of the hidden colada but that was a standout, love their variation without coconut cream, made it a really refreshing summer drink. Can’t wait to return.

Lovely atmosphere. Excellent service.
Drinks were very well made and delicious.
Not a lot of options for food, but everything is quite well made. The only lost star is because they should have more finger food options in their menu.

This was my second time visiting Old Mate's Place and it's definitely one of the nicer bars in the city! Not a big bar-hopper myself, but I really liked how they have a rooftop space. The rooftop can be little tight so with our group of 8 we stayed downstairs on the bigger tables.

The service is fast and friendly, I ordered the Newtown Boi cocktail which was fantastic since I'm a yuzu enjoyer! Lovely atmosphere with the decorations inside. Definitely a recommended bar for anyone to visit!

Atmosphere 9.5/10
Speakeasy on the rooftop of a building with “Lamp Hair” sign. Bar has two floors and a basement. Rooftop is open air, simple bar and nice views of the city. Downstairs is main bar in a super atmospheric room - old school / antique vibe. Good music volume. Awesome back bar. In the basement of the building is their Tiki bar “Old Love’s”, which is also absolutely worth a visit on the way out, to taste their great rum selection and freshly made cane sugar (!)

Just wow!

Old Mates Place lives up to it's reputation. Whilst we may have arrived during a quiet period.

We were warmly greeted by the staff, dimly lit, library that smelt beautifully dusty and fragrant as the spirits lingered through the air.

Shown to a private booth, as the chill jazz and instrumental blues set the tone for an amazing cocktail session ahead.

The cocktails were creative and great value for money. This is everything that I want in a cocktail bar.

Highly recommend Two Shakes of Lamb's Tail & Gatsby!
