Beautiful botanical gardens on Sydney Harbour.   Great walks in the garden, sprawling views of the harbour from various vantage points. The entrance beside the Opera house is close to public transport (ferry, train, light rail) at Circular Quays.

Beautiful botanical gardens and Park which is a nice tranquil oasis right next to the CBD of Sydney and contains some really nice plants! It's also the perfect place to take photos of both the opera house and bridge at the same time!

I visited the Royal Botanic Garden in Sydney for the first time recently, and let me tell you, it was a total game-changer! I picked a spot right by the Opera House, so I had the most amazing view of the harbor bridge. The trees provided the perfect shade, and I swear, the birds there are so used to humans, they're practically posing for photos! It felt so peaceful and natural, even in the heart of a busy city.
I saw people enjoying picnics, couples getting cozy, and everyone just taking in the beautiful scenery. As the sun set, the city lights turned on, and the whole place looked magical. If you ever find yourself in Sydney, you absolutely have to check this place out. You won't regret it!

Lovely botanical garden: detailed review with dozens of photos.

This is a really large botanical gardens that reminds me more of a huge Central Park than simply a Botanical Gardens. Of course, there are beautiful plantings here, but there’s also a lot of green space and open space. People were meditating, picnicking, practicing yoga…there’s a great deal of open green area.

We arrived in the spring, and so much was in bloom, but I’m certain that the garden has surprises in every season.

Excellent walking paths and clean public restrooms as well. There are little cafés scattered around, but you can also bring a picnic. The pathways are well-marked and will direct you to areas of interest in the gardens.

Be sure to explore the gardens that are populated with plants that showcase many of the first attempts at growing fruits and vegetables by European Settlers in Sydney.

The garden also abuts the harbor, and so you can enjoy that element as well. Amazing views of the opera house and beyond. We spent several hours here and only left because we were starting to crave dinner.

Should you get hungry wandering around the Royal Botanic Gardens, I'd recommend you stop here for lunch. The food is delicious with something for everyone, from vegetarian spring rolls to Wagyu beef. Pretty good wine list with Australian and foreign wines as well. Personally, I enjoy the atmosphere here, peaceful and airy, away from the noise of the city. In the depth of the park you get great views of the gardens. One word of caution: you may end up overeating :)

Beautiful decor (the ceiling flower arrangement is a wow!) and setting (botanical gardens outside the floor-to-ceiling windows!). Combined with pleasant service and great food, this was a very good lunch. The young jackfruit with sesame crackers and slow cooked spiced wagyu brisket on cabbage salad were creative takes on traditional Vietnamese dishes. The twice-cooked master stock chicken was a bit dry. The scallops were almost so perfect with a delicious sauce, but they were seared a little too long so they ended up too firm. Otherwise the scallops would have been the best dish! I was hoping for a stronger presence from the aboriginal ingredients.

Arriving by ferry to Circular Quay then a leisurely walk past the Opera House, into the gardens along the waters edge built up a bit of an appetite. The Botanic House is a shorter walk from Macquarie Street if you have caught a 'bus or decided to park around there but not quite as nice. We were given a Red Ballon gift of lunch so the menu was slightly different to the usual tasting menu or a la carte menu. They are quite strict about turning up on time and only holding the table for 15 mins if you are late. The other point of note is that they say lunch will take 2 hours. The food we were served was beautiful in taste and presentation. At one point we decided to slow down as we were devouring the meals in record time. Our table wasn't at window but as the tables are not packed against one another, we were able to have an excellent 180° view of the gardens at one row back. There is a restaurant underneath Botanic House with tables set in the open. Our entertainment was a kookaburra eyeing off the patrons' dinners and swooping on those below. The service was good and the wait staff were able to cope with a full restaurant and our particular nuances. There were 11 plates to share. The entrees ("first" courses) were excellent along with their serving sauces in little bowls. We weren't prepared to give up those sauces when they collected the empty plates as they were just so good. The best was Vietnamese mint, tamari lime sauce. Whilst not being in the spirit of the presentation, by the time we had reached the 7th dish of chicken salad, we had a little stock pile of sauces that we experimented with the chook. The main meals of fish and chicken were just as flavourful. The dessert was just right to finish off such an excellent meal. If you are fussy about coffee, opt to have tea. It was a very low tide on my macchiato (taste was OK) but my dining buddy was happy with the cappuccino. It did take just under two hours.

The worst restaurant in Sydney ! The Venue Manager started a zoom meeting at a table in the dining room just when it opened for lunch and we were seated right next to him. We couldn't enjoy our meal because of the loud voices coming from his laptop and he didn'tseem to care an inch. What kind of treatment was that to clients I don't understand. Never go there if you visit the Botanical Gardens in Sydney .
