Wonderful restaurant that's tucked away on the second floor of the strand arcade. Very private and relaxing atmosphere with a polite waiter team. The food was fabulous. I tried the Sydney Rock Oysters with a Tasmanian White Riesling, which was divine. For the main I had the Roman Cow's Milk Riccota Ravioli, it was delicious and not too rich. My only gripe is they don't give you any salt/pepper or extra cheese/chilli flakes on the table and no bread on the side either. For an Italian place, those table additions usually come standard. Nevertheless, it's a lovely spot to relax and enjoy dining with some privacy away from the hustle of the city. Penelope was my waitress and she was so professional and welcoming. Hope to return soon, grazie!

Ok, so there's a bit of tech talk here. Been here 20+ times over the decades. The peak for my experience was first post covid opens...amazing. Tonight was an all-time low.
The bread has faded. Yeah, the focaccia is still the stand out (though the charcoal thing is too recent to be nostalgic, and too old to be contemporary)...the others, poor, probably lunch service bread at dinner. Not good enough at this level. The appetiser plate has real problems. The non soup items are...ok...monochromatic.. I could go on, but there's lots else to cover. Tomato consomme peaked at restaurant Bouley, NYC early 90s. I know, I made it. It's all about the tomatoes. Here, they're so lacklustre (yeah, aussie tomatoes...errr) that the liquid is indiscipherable from its source. If it's not extraordinary, dont serve it at this level. But pastas is where this place shines. Used to. The fine pappardelle is triumphant, but when this fine, it's going to stay at its peak for 3 minutes, Max. That's why it can only be utilised for a tasting appetiser size. Sadly, here, by the time even the quickest eater gets to the halfway point, the symphony has  ...ended. The boar and beef sauce has good bones (literally), though not a shred (literally) of meat to be found in a "ragu" (figuratively?) Sauce. The tagliatelle is a "coulda shoulda." Had the beautiful pasta been given 30 seconds more to bleed a little more of its starch into the sauce, it would have been a pasta dish instead of pasta with sauce. Yes, the quail egg yolk potentially acts as a liaison (literally), but it needed the dish to have that extra 30 seconds to unionise. The mixed salad i simply don't understand whatsoever. Chopped like a classic American style with lots of ingredients that all taste of nothing. This concept can work when the ingredients are extraordinary and the flavours mixed symphonically. And the dressing, well, I've actually forgotten it... not a good sign. I suspect the chocolate truffle is olive oil based. That means it didn't melt in the mouth. Maybe a warning would have helped with my expectations. The service was great and the Manager close to tears when she realised we were leaving unhappy. Its hard, but last thing wanted when you're off to a show is a deep and dark dialogue, with possible arguments about your opinion, and offers for money you don't need, and returns you don't want. I've been  in her shoes. It hurts.
I think if you haven't been, then, maybe. If you have, hold onto the memory. Nino, pick up the game, brother. You're charging for extraordinary, not good, or even very good. And Nino, I know you can do it.

We had the absolute best time celebrating our wedding anniversary at Pendolino. Everything about the experience was perfect. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and part of the family - they were so personable and attentive. The degustation menu, food and wine pairing was unquestionably superb and definitely the best food we have had in Sydney in a very long time. We will definitely be back.

The best schnitzel I’ve ever had. It was not just a big piece of crusted meat, it was delicate and delicious. The service and atmosphere was also very upscale. Tiramisu was also fantastic.

I've been here twice now and it's fantastic.  Top notch service and very friendly staff.  The food is amazing, and everything you eat is a taste sensation.  It is totally recommended and worth a visit.  The chef's are outstanding!

Mycket trevlig matupplevelse. Vi hade 4-rätters lunch och varje rätt var utmärkt. Bra portion storlek lämnade oss med utrymme för dessert. Vinlistan var intressant men det är svårt att hitta många val under $ 100. Det finns några luckor i den italienska listan (inget från Valtellina till exempel) . Servicen var gemytlig men korrekt. Vårt enda klagomål är att restaurangen inte har toaletter. Du måste gå upp några våningar till köpcentrum toaletter. Definitivt inte i linje med den annars premium upplevelse.

Vilken härlig restaurang detta är, perfekt service och charmig personal. Vi hade Express tvårätters lunch $ 99 och det var utmärkt, massor av val och verkligen utsökt mat. Jag kommer säkert att komma tillbaka hit, en dold pärla på andra våningen i Strand Arcade.

Restaurangen är flott och maten var bra, men för det priset (och portionerna) , jag förväntade mig att det skulle vara något sinne - häpnadsväckande. Jag åt 6-rätters degustationsmeny, och halvvägs började jag få kextrötthet. Jag förstod inte riktigt kockens besatthet av kex, men det förlorade sin nyhet (eller vilken effekt det nu var tänkt att uppnå) efter 4 på varandra följande rätter med det. Kanske kunde cureringen av menyn ha tagit hänsyn till det? Servicepersonalen var professionell och uppmärksam. Även om ett fel gjordes på räkningen (jag var dubbelt debiterad) var de snabba att rätta till det efter att jag påpekat detta, och erbjöd vänligen en flaska olivolja som ursäkt. Vilket påminner mig om att det som imponerade mest var det svarta brödet (med havssalt på) och de 3 olika olivoljedipparna.

Bra vin, genomsnittlig mat med en besatthet av kex överallt. Degenererad sedan vi besökte sist. Massor av bättre alternativ till detta pris punkt. Synd... . : (

Vi gick till Pendolin som det är praktiskt för en pre - middag måltid innan du går till teatern. Restaurangen webbplats gjorde det ser ganska fantastiskt, men vi var extremt besviken. Jag beställde pastarätter. Serveringen var långsam trots att vi berättade för servitören att vi bara hade en timme innan vår show. måltiden innehöll tre små skolräkor och en baby bay bläckfisk, med en portion spaghetti som bäst kan beskrivas som en liten förrätt och inget mer. På 46 dollar. 00 det var en rip off och lämnade mig hungrig.

Precis vad jag behövde. Jag åt raviolin med ett glas rödvin. Gjordes för att känna sig mycket välkomna. Maten och vinet var utsökt. Definitivt bra för ett speciellt tillfälle.

Vi har haft många enastående middagar på Restaurant Pendolino. Maten är bara så läcker! Ovärmd tills det var "vår tur", vi fördes till bordet (bday present väntar). Tisdagen den 7: e klockan 7: 30 för Penny. . Service av Nicola började ok, vin föreslog av Rafa, utmärkt. . Daniel driver för mycket aperitiven. . förrätter var bra, jag är en långsam mat. Dessa plattor togs snabbt bort, eftersom det måste antas att elnätet hade kallats. Jag bad Nicola om en paus, 15 minuter? , inte längre tack. . fler frågor från Nicola som gjorde det uppenbart att hon hade krävt elnätet. Vi såg henne aldrig runt vårt bord igen. Daniel hällde en 1/4 flaska italienska vitt vin i mina söner glas (liknande Riedel Shiraz glas), efter att vi hade hällt en respektabel liten mängd av Rafa. Strömförsörjningen var inte bra, det fanns ingen att fråga om detta, förutom Daniel som inte visste varför min skrynkliga knarkande på fläskmagen smakade "harsk" (beskrivs inte lätt!). han återvände med en anledning att vinäger användes. Jag smakade på det någon annanstans och den smaken var inte lik. Jag är en mycket praktisk "hemmakock" och föreslår att en chef ringer mig tillbaka för att diskutera. SE upp alla. .

Varje gång vi äter på Pendolino, blir vi böjda över kvaliteten på tjänsten och maten. Stämningen påminner oss om italienska restauranger vi har varit i New York och Chicago. Skaldjur, kött och vegetariska rätter laddas med smak och pasta smälter i munnen! Ett stort antal viner tillgängliga. Rekommenderas starkt, speciellt för ett speciellt tillfälle.

Glöm de hipsterplatserna med backpackers vänta personal, Pendolino fortsätter att leverera i spader. Det är en absolut glädje att få hög service och fantastisk mat. Jag är bara över de andra trendiga moderna restauranger som inte gör det, men alla måste åka dit eftersom de har läst om dem.

Detta är en av de bästa italienska restaurangerna som finns överallt. Som andra har sagt är att det är den mest stressande biten; ligger på andra våningen i Strand Arcade, är det inte uppenbart att du har kommit till receptionen. Men när någon tycktes hälsa oss, togs vi dock på en anmärkningsvärd kulinarisk resa. Matsalen i sig har inga yttre fönster, och bara tegel är den estetiska principen i rummet. Menyn är omfattande och innehåller vagnleverans av olika bröd och oljor. Vinlistan är på samma sätt expansiv och har ett bra utbud av både italienska och australiska viner, plus champagner på de flesta prispunkter. Maten kunde inte klandras, tjänsten var utmärkt och sommelieren känner till hans grejer.

Vi har rest mycket och ätit i många bra restauranger men Pendolinos var felfri. Charmiga servitörer, kunniga sommelier och den mest utsökta italienska maten vi någonsin ätit. Vad mer kan jag säga? Det var den bästa maten vi någonsin har haft.

Efter att ha läst recensioner och tittat på liknande restauranger valde vi Pendolino. Inte det enklaste stället att hitta, ledtråden är det på övervåningen i shoppinggatan. Varmt välkomnade och valde att inte gå för provsmakning menyn men en blandning av rätter. Bröd och olja var fantastiska tillsammans med en trevlig Prosecco att börja. Maten var utmärkt hela, vackert kokta och presenterade, vi tog Sommeliers val av tillhörande viner. Tack vare Rafa? vi hade ett antal mycket bra viner som helt överensstämmer med maten. En bit av en risk som vi kunde ha blivit "rippade" med alltför dyrt och olämpligt vin. I slutet av måltiden var det säkert dyrt men värt det, och vinerna var rimligt prissatta, tack. Den enda lilla irritationen är att vi kände att tjänsten var lite rusade vilket var bara lite irriterande när maten och atmosfären var så bra.

VAR INTE RUSHING BACK IN A HURRY! ! ! ! ! Pendolino är en gammal favorit för de flesta i vår fest, men natten lämnade oss emellertid underwhelmed, besviken och ändrade åsikter för alltid. Vi är en grupp av 6 Foodies som möts en gång i månaden på olika restauranger nya och kommande, A la Carte, hål i väggarna, gamla favoriter och institutioner i Sydney. Vid tidpunkten för sittplatser var servitören / sommelier anlänt med trolly av aperitif, som erbjöd prosecco champagne etc. Med tanke på om detta var vad vi ville ha ett av vårt parti, frågade priset per glas, WOW hur leendet och vänskapsmatchen av servitören förändrades. Vi fick sedan veta att det var $ 49 per glas för champagne och $ 38 för ett glas Prosecco. . . . . Behövde vi veta hur mycket någonting annat var? Stor snooty servitör! Medan vi valde att ignorera attityden ställde den tonen för resten av kvällen. Vår server var dock underbar och uppmärksam. Husets bröd och olivolja är fortfarande lika fantastiska. Desserten var upprörande bra. Skäligen var allt annat ett misslyckande. En oliv amuse buse (mellanmål) var serveras, smaskiga men OOPS, ett par hade pips i den. Lucky no chipped teeth. Jag beställde SOFT CRUMBED PORT LINCOLN SARDINES. Vad som kom var 2 små, torkade ut och hårda sardiner som var täckta av en "sallad" persilja och och några andra blad 4 skavningar av fänkål och sedan dockoped på sidan var något som liknade Fountain Tomat Sauce. Inte en tomatpola, tomatsyra eller tomatsjakt. Yep, tomatsås! ! ! ! ! Jag har haft turen att äta sardiner i Portofino, södra Spanien och även Foster Tuncurry Fish Co-op. Jag vet vad fräsch är. Vad jag åt den natten var definitivt inte fräsch. 2: a kursen var FREGOLA OCH SEAFOOD. . . medan detta var ok i smak, har jag haft färska Spencer Gulf reker. Deras söta saftiga och plumpa kött saknades. I stället var det som torkades över kokta räkor. En bra restaurang sparar pengar. Påståenden från Australiens bästa producerar och tjänar den så hackad, förkläder mängden, kvaliteten och fräschheten som har blivit pläterad. Att bo i Sydney's "Little Italy" ger mig möjlighet att äta otroligt pasta, sugo, ragu. Att bo på vägen från skaldjursmarknaden ger tillgång till de färskaste och bästa. Till och med matsalarna serverar bättre mat. En av vårt parti ville beställa ett glas vin med sin måltid. Innan en vinlista sågs kom en flaska och vin skulle hällas. Hon frågar vad det var, hon fick höra att det var trevligt att lita på honom. När hennes man frågade hur mycket vinet var, rullade servitören ögonen och sa 50 dollar. Hon bad sedan om menyn och skulle välja själva vinet. När menyn anlände placerades den i andra änden av bordet. När det kom till efterrätten gjorde vår "servitör / sommelier" ett nytt utseende och frågade om vi behövde prissättningen på något dessertvin på denna elusiva trolly. Vad är meningen med en vinmeny? När personalen driver dagens vin. När vi nekade ett ljuvt vin och istället bad om kaffe gick han bort utan bekräftelse. Vi var tvungna att ringa servitrisen över för att fråga om kaffet. Efter att ha betalat in - över 350 dollar per par, vad gjorde det värre hur sjuk jag och en annan person i vårt parti var den kvällen. Det verkar som att Pendolinos målgrupp är affärspersonen med det obegränsade företagskortet. Vilket var i övrigt den viktigaste anpassade natten. Definitivt tar bort favoritlistan. Notera, Sydney har vägen bättre restauranger.
