Running 21.1km / half marathon in the CBD of Sydney's inner core works up an appetite. I decided to visit this place for a good, hearty lunch option. #Rungry is a real important thing! It looked pretty healthy and decided to have lunch here at the Split Roast Shop. This small little café type of restaurant reminds me of a lot of places in Honolulu, Hawaii, US where I am from. It also kind of reminds me of any panda express location in the United States also. But however, I was in Kiribilli / North Sydney Australia, so there are variations to this type of set up motif anywhere in the world nowadays. This experience here at the Split Roast shop was very much a Takeaway experience. I ended up having to decide about 10 minutes before actually ordering. Everything looks so good, and I wanted to have it off. But I was needing to decide on a few things, before I end up spending AU$50 or more. Needless to say, I enjoyed my time here, even though it was just about 25 minutes from start to finish. I ended up getting a New York burger with a side of large mixed rice. It was definitely a nice meal to have after running 21.1 km. The mixed rice definitely a good take on rice and filled the stomach after a morning of running through the streets of CBD Sydney and some along the Sydney Harbor Bridge. The overall experience here at the Roast Split Shop here in Kiribilli / North Sydney, Australia was really touch and go. It is pretty much what fast food counters are. Fast food at your convenience, but with a subtle touch of homespun flavor. I do like seeing everything in the trays before you decide on what serving size container you want. I needed 10 minutes before deciding what to get. The prices were pretty good, although I had to do currency conversion in my head before placing my order. The service here was good although it was quick ordering and fast pay. Waiting for the burger took about 10 minutes, but it was made to order, so that was awesome! For the most part though, everything was good and in order. Only part was that it did not have enough tables to sit down and eat. At the time, 2 of them were occupied and I had to find elsewhere to have my meal. They are located at 10 Broughton Street near the Sydney harbor Bridge's north end. They accept major credit cards, including international visa credit cards and cash. Being that they are located in a residential suburban area, parking here can be a breeze, but you'd have to walk a few - depending on where you parked. If you are a tourist like me, uber works best unless you rent a car. There is a train station here in Kiribilli, but i didn't utilize it during my stay here. Best bet is to get here anyway you can. It is deliciously crazy here. The NY Burger was pretty epic and definitely the one to get. It is simple without the extras to really get a good dose of Burger and crazy good protein in your mouth. It was worth the $10 I think it was. The mixed rice was good and satisfying. Rice is usually filling and it did its job of satisfying without being too heavy. While I should have gotten some chips, the rice was a nice substitute for carb overload for sure. The prices here were decidedly okay and when you are a tourist, you just go with it and see where it takes you. For the most part though, I like it and the lady at the counter was nice and friendly. If you are here in Kiribilli / North Sydney for business or holiday, consider checking out this hole in the wall place. I would recommend this hidden gem, for anyone who loves comfort food at its best. One of the best burgers I've had in a while overseas while traveling. Just what I need when I move to the hood in April, a great burger, roast venue, that has it all, grease, tasty food, that will no doubt be great after a big night out. Good service, no frills just good old fashioned comfort food and next to the Kirribilli hotel what more could you want. The food is well priced as are the roasts and this will do nicely for a once a week roast, great location opposite Milsons Point Station, just up from Ferry stop and bus stops it is win win all over. They make burgers to your liking and trust me the patties are no small wafers....

There was a wondrous year during my youth where my best friend's parents moved to the mountains and rented her an apartment in Neutral Bay so she'd be close to uni. Many an afternoon after a productive and well-behaved evening at Cremorne Hotel we'd roll out of bed and trek all the way down Clarke Road for chips and a burger at Sydney's most inappropriately named chicken shop. Nothing beats Spitroast chips and a beef burger with cheese and tomato added and BBQ sauce. So much so that the fact that he lived in Kirribilli is possibly 90% of the reason I'm with my fiancé. Over the years I have tried pretty much everything here and I can say if there is a better chicken shop in Sydney then I haven't found it. Although my days backing it up on the dance floor at Mega Hole are over and I no longer live in Kirribilli I still find myself here quite regularly. The shop owner is like an old friend now that you only see when you are hungry. They have since branched out to Artarmon and Potts Point but like all chicken shop franchises the original is always the best.

All your old favourites and wild, creative, colourful bespoke numbers that make we want to run out and hug a vegan. Here's the skinny: get a salad roll for $5.50. And then you get to tell them what salad(s) you want in that roll. I know right.

Enlightenment, my friends, can be found by a careful application of precise gastronomic methodology: 1. Depart from your transport of choice first at North Sydney, and navigate Greenwood Shopping Centre to your initial pit-stop, Losurdo's Fresh Express. There, along a rear shelf facing the cheeses and deli meats, you will find bottles of Louisiana Crystal Hot Sauce at the low price of $2.99. This purchase is necessary; it's also the first step to victory. 2. Move, at your leisure - meditation on the true impact of step one may take weeks - to the Spitroast Shop, on the humming main strip of Kiribilli. This old-guard chook-shop sells delicious roast dinners, vibrant salads and juicy meat rolls at bargain prices. The shoestring fries are crisp and seasoned to perfection but during your visit their purpose is tangential. The Spitroast Shop now sells something called a southern fried chicken burger, the acquisition of which is necessary; it's the second step to victory. 3. Meditate no longer. Find a place to eat - in the shadow of the bridge, beside the lapping harbour, on the dirty curbside - and open your box. Tilt the top of your bun upward to reveal a mess of mayonaisse and shredded lettuce. Apply your safely stowed Louisiana Crystal Hot Sauce liberally. This step is necessary; from it, victory follows without instruction. Nietzsche is Dead. There is one true purpose to human existence, and you've just achieved it. And it's just as well, because that deep-fried burger brought you a little closer to its end...

Every little suburban community should have a chicken or burger bar, and Kirribilli is no exception. Located next to the local pub, this popular burger bar provides the usual cheap eats one would expect from a chicken shop ($10 for a burger combo, for example). The food is reasonable enough, for the price (for those wanting a better burger the pub next door offers better food at about twice the price), although could be better - my chicken burger had a bit too much mayo and the bun did not blow me away - the same type they use at Nandos.... but my pet hate, they add chicken salt to the chips without asking! Still, I am forewarned on the latter for next time, and as I said above, for the price the food is good enough

Went here tonight to grab a cheap dinners, I ordered the beef with two veg sides. The beef was flavourless and chewy, vegetables were hard and cauliflower bake was flavourless also. I wasn't asked if I was intending to eat in or takeaway so everything was jammed into a plastic container even though i intended to eat in. The rice pudding had a nice texture but again flavourless lucky I took it home and added some cinnamon sugar. The meal was $19 without a drink, there was certainly plenty of food but I think a pub meal would have been a better idea.

The Spit Roast is amazing for beef & lamb baguettes. The meat is cooked perfectly & is always juicy & succulent no matter what time of day, the accompanying salads are fresh & they have a great & varied choice! The Red cabbage & walnut salad is the most tasty, busting with flavour, freshness & crunch. I would highly recommend a visit to see for yourself!

Great chicken shop with variety. Their chicken skewers are above average and the chips are thin and tasty. Their salads are amazing, only problem is choosing one of the many :D Spitroast is so good that you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Definitely worth trying. My recommendation is some skewers, chips and a salad.
