The food is quite good mix of Asian food. The service is quite curt (some might consider rude). The restaurant eating area is actually quite large. Fried chicken wings are very nice, and their fried and soup noodles are quite good. Laksa was a bit disappointing. Also asking for any extras is a waste of time, they will charge you for it, but you don't actually get anything more...

What we ordered at F & L gourmet: Nasi Goreng (Indonesian fried rice), Calamari, Laksa. Although this restaurant was pretty busy during lunch hour, we didn't enjoy the food as much as we want to. The food were pretty bland to my taste. Especially the Laksa. Disappointed.

I'd say this is a bit of a 2-and-a-half star... I'll give it a 3 because the base food choices (generally the food at the food court) are generally pretty ordinary (to be polite). F&L are definitely better than the food at the food court. Like I've always done, the last couple of times I visited I had either the soya chicken laksa or the chicken rice. Firstly, the laksa. The soup's fine - it could possibly have had more coconut milk mixed into the soup, but it was ok. The price seemed a little expensive for what's really basic ingredients, but at $13-something, it's sort of what you'd expect to pay in Sydney these days, in an eatery which isn't in a food court. The monopoly of Macquarie Centre amongst all the offices of the area doesn't really help. Besides, the !$$@% food at the food court is $9.50 for 2 choices with rice. The chicken rice - not spectacular, but alright. I'd say the easy quick improvement would be to make sure the sauces line up with the authentic line-up - thick dark southeast Asian soy sauce, ground ginger/shallot, chilli sauce/vinegar mix. That'll instantly add to the cred of this dish. The rice could also do with at least a little more chicken fat. Maybe they're health-conscious people at F & L, but if taste is the loser, then no. No no no no no no no no no no! Based on what's available at Macquarie Centre, F & L are amongst the places which I will go to when in the area (but not dream of coming to this place).

Pricey, small portions, poor customer service, don't bother removing or adding things they can't get it right, hard to get a table and when you do soon as you've eaten they ask if you're done and then to leave as they want the seats for other customers. Really rude :/

Scam restaurant stay away We ordered Peking duck half for $ 34 as shown on menu and they served us duck skin with crackers assuming we are stupid .We simply wanted to walk away but they said to wait for the rest and what they served was some lettuce leaves with vegetables..we ended up with a $60 bill for duck skin and lettuce leaves with tiny vegetable pieces such a rip off and a scam.

Pricey for what it is. Better off going to Simply Noodles up near the movies. The surcharge took it over minimum credit card amount yet they wouldn't charge the minimum amount! Then blamed the boss! Go somewhere better and save your money
