Great location for the cruise ship terminal, its a 5min walk from hotel you port. If flying in use the Sydney train you circular quay and its a 10 min walk you the hotel.  Staff are helpful and friendly. Shops local and restaurants. Rooms clean tidy but a little TLC needed.  Awesome views at night from the pool deck with a view of ships in Port or the Opera house.

I will start with the positive - the location is unbeatable. It’s right in the centre of The Rocks and a short walk to circular quay.

However, the hotel itself  is very dated and in need of a massive upgrade. The foyer looks like you’re walking into a prison block with some plastic plants trying their best to cheer the place up. The room I was allocated was dreadful. The carpet was stained and threadbare, the bathroom extremely tired and with a stained and unclean bathtub, the furniture is old, stained and chipped and there were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling above the bed. The only saving grace was that the bed was reasonably comfortable.

I very much hope that the new owners of this hotel have plans in the works for a massive upgrade. This hotel could, and should, be a flagship hotel in The Rocks. Instead it’s a sad, tired old wreck. Worst part is that they are charging high prices. I have paid less to stay in a 5 star in cbd. I have hopes for the future of this hotel but right now I will not return and I couldn’t really recommend staying here.

The room was very outdated the furniture was clearly damaged, the bathroom showed terrible wear and there was mould and there was no exhaust. Unfortunately, I left an item behind, which was entirely my fault. However, I am extremely disappointed with the assistance provided by the hotel staff. I called within two hours of checking out at 8am after realising the item was missing, yet the response lacked both urgency and empathy. I requested that someone check the room immediately before anyone entered the room and call me back, but it took three more calls and escalating the issue to the manager before any action was taken. By the time the room was finally checked—after 2 PM—it had already been cleaned, and unsurprisingly, the item was no longer there. This level of service does not reflect the four-star rating the hotel claims to have. Even at check-in, I experienced delays while staff struggled to locate luggage that two other guests had left in the reception’s care. Had I realised this was going to be the tone of my stay, I would have checked in elsewhere, even if it meant losing the money I had already paid.

Very handy location for The Overseas passenger terminal.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious and clean but older. Bed was very comfortable.
Breakfast buffet was very good.
Handy location to shopping and restaurants in The Rocks.
Train station and ferries a short walk away. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

We loved the hotel. The harbour location is great, close to Opera House, the Bridge, cruise ship port, and airport...as well as a number of restaurants and shops. The service was great. They were kind enough to hold our luggage until check-in time, allowing us to walk about and enjoy the market. The breakfast buffet was very good, although a little pricey. I highly recommend. I would definitely stay there again.
