Hurricanes is a bar and grill with a number of venues around Sydney, including Chatswood, Bondi, Circular Quay and Darling Harbour. They also have a store in Qld and a couple of express stores. We visited Hurricanes at their Brighton Le Sands location. Brighton Le Sands is one of the lesser known waterfront dining areas in Sydney. Hurricanes has a prime spot there, right on the waters edge, boasting views of our historical Botany Bay. It also has views of the airport and aeronautical enthusiasts can enjoy planes taking off over the bay. It is spacious venue with floor to ceiling glass to take advantage of the views. It is extremely large with plenty of tables and 2 bars and open plan so you could easily host a large party and they are booked up with 350 people for New Years Eve. We arrived right on noon and it was just opening. We were promptly taken to our table, right at the windows with a lovely outlook. We perused the menu and staff updated us with the daily specials. Hurricanes are famous for their ribs and steaks and they use a unique basting sauce to provide a lovely flavour to their meats. Meat cuts are all halal certified from their suppliers and can have no sauce upon request. They also offer plenty of steaks on the menu, salads and a range of appetisers too. They may not be known first and foremost as a seafood restaurant, but there's plenty of seafood options too. Our visit to Hurricane's saw us try some of these seafood options, beginning with the scallops. Perfectly cooked, the scallops were served in the open shell, atop sweet potato purée, resembling the look of roe. We thoroughly enjoyed this start to the menu. Following on from this, we ordered one of the specials, the grilled whole barramundi. It was soft and flaky, with the flesh falling from the bone. We enjoyed this with lemon and a side salad. We couldn't go past ordering a steak, which Hurricanes are notorious for. There's numerous meats and cuts to select from. Whether it be the rump, strip stirloin, fillet tenderloin or T bone, you will find your perfect match. Wagyu, dry aged or long fed beef, Hurricanes sure know their meats. We went for the dry aged beef, aged for 21 days, served as a strip loin on the bone (400g), the flavour was lovely and it was cooked spot on to our request. Meats come with your choice of fries, salad or baked potato and you can order a sauce to accompany it. Hurricanes also serve other main menu items like beef cheeks, lamb cutlets, pork knuckle, grilled chicken, burgers and more. There's also combo deals like steak and ribs or meat or seafood platters. There's desserts and cocktails to top off your dining experience. The menu is certainly extremely approachable so we imagine it would satisfy any dining party.

I'm absolutely disgusted by the treatment my family & I had last night when we're about to dine at Hurricane's Grill Brighton Le Sands. If Wesley Bedil is truly your manager, he seriously in desperate need of some customer service & handling training, before he is fit to be attending your front desk, let alone be a manager that requires handling situations with your customer! How dare he asked us to leave in such a disrespectful manner, after we waited for so long and when he is the one who lied to us about the availability of the table!! I specifically called before I came to make sure we can dine there, I advised him over the phone that we're a party of 6 that will be dining in. I asked whether or not we need to make a reservation to dine in or we could just walk in, he advised we can just walk in without needing any reservation. I called when I'm already on my way there from Mascot, so it's not that long until I arrived there! We came in with only 2 people were waiting before us, I advised him my name and explained that I called about the table for 6 earlier today, he acknowledged and he asked me to wait a few moments as the restaurant is at full capacity at the moment, and I said ok, we'll wait. As the night progressed, more people came into the restaurant and waited to be seated, I saw him seating 2 people in (that turns out to be a party of 3) who came in AFTER us, I still gave him the benefit of the doubt, maybe because they're only 2 people, that's why they can get in first, we'll just need to wait for a group of 5/6 people to leave so we can be shown to our table. Only to find out when a party of 6 left the restaurant, he let in the other group of people who came after us again to get in first! My mother then said that we were there first and promised to be seated once there is an available table! Instead, he said that this group has booked hence can be seated first. I was furious to hear such a ridiculous excuse!! When he came back, I demanded an explanation of why we were not seated first, he said those people has booked from 3 weeks ago when you guys reopened and he cannot give us the table over the people who have made a reservation, and disrespectfully asked us to leave if we're not happy!!!! How ridiculous and stupid is he???? I called before we come! I SPECIFICALLY ASKED IF WE NEEDED A RESERVATION! HE SAID NO NEED, JUST WALK IN! Yet he has the nerve to say that if I was spoken to him, he definitely said that the restaurant is booked out, so he implied that I lied to him??!! Is this the kind of standard of employees in Hurricane's Grill Brighton Le Sands has come down to?? All this unpleasant experience and not once he apologised! Instead, he just runs off, how unprofessional! He had the chance to fix up his mistake when we showed up at the restaurant, if he simply apologise and told us that he made a mistake over the phone, that the restaurant has been booked out, we would just go elsewhere, but to asked us to wait for so long and not giving us the table is simply unreasonable and inexcusable!!! I'm absolutely disgusted and will definitely tell our family and friends to avoid your restaurant at all cost! We dine out for the experience and the food! But when you fail to employ the right people to serve your PAYING customer, no food is worth such a horrible customer service!!!

Wife ordered the pork ribs and I had a rare scotch fillet. Wife's ribs and chips were cold (but cooked through... Draw your own conclusions). Most of the fat on my scotch fillet was not rendered properly and as a result some mouthfuls of meat were combined with chunks of raw fat. Best thing on the table was the garlic mushrooms and my daughter's kids fish and chips.

Wow a great find here. Best view of pristine waters aswell. Well decked out and immaculate service. The salt and pepper squid and prawns were a standout here absolutely delicious. The steak was also good quality as was the baked potato yum. The ribs were toooo saucy for me so we took them home. A must try check out the photos.

I went here for dinner with my family. I ordered the pork ribs and beef ribs. Both of them taste good, but i prefer the pork ribs more. I also ordered the mushroom soup which was really tasty. Staff were very friendly. CONCLUSION = RECOMMENDED!

It's hard to get a reasonably large group together, so when the consensus on Hurricane's was reached, even though it wasn't a top choice for me, I thought "don't rock the boat! Just go with it!"... Besides, there's one in Bondi that people seem to like, so how bad could it be? The website looked pretty swank and apparently Brighton was opened only very recently so I thought at least it will be fresh and shiny and new. Yeah, not really. It looks like it's been open for years, like a 6 year old Westfield Shopping Town. Same crowd too. Yeah, I'm a snob. It doesn't look anywhere near as nice as the website - the tables are all in rows and squashed together like a food court and vaguely messy. Not sexy. Ladies, if you like the suburban knuckledragger with a bald head and decked out in head to toe Ed Hardy, I have discovered their headquarters! It's Hurricane's in Brighton! I swear there were two looooooong, long tables full of these guys. With more coming in every hour. For me personally, this is not a recommendation. Nope. Noooo thanks. The service was mediocre. Sometimes weird and awkward. Mostly mediocre. I got a half rack of pork ribs, which is what is supposed to be amazing here. The serving was HUGE. EPIC. I didn't finish it. It was just alright. Definitely NOT the best ribs ever, not even in the top 10. Just... alright. Soooo not all that. Everyone else got burgers and steak and fish. I think I got the best thing, and mine wasn't that great. I'd be downright pissed if I got what anyone's else at my table ordered. It all looked so ho-hum. I wasn't jealous of anyone's food whatsoever. Unless you like plain, generic, non-exotic, generic food when you go out, go somewhere else. Yeah, generic. Did I already say generic? Generic.

So much possibility but let down all round. Especially when you compare this to the Darling Harbour venue, the service here was inconsistent, I mean they just didn't listen to what we wanted. The actual food was also quite poor and it took 45 mins for our meals to come out, and this was a Wednesday night. The steaks were full of fat and lacking in taste. Overall a disappointing experience and doubt I will be back here again.

We have been to this restaurant many times before and no issues, but tonight what a nightmare!!!! We pre-booked and had to wait a long time and then they gave us the worst seating you could imagine. Then our waiter couldn't even speak English properly....no forks on the table, the table was dirty from the previous diners and had to wait a really long time before being served. The food came out and it was not worth the price quoted. We ordered stake and ribs, no meat on the ribs just bones and the steak was smaller than a kids size steak...not happy!! Tried to have desert but got no service and just decided to pay the bill and get out of this place as soon as possible. Never ever going to go there again!!!!!!

I'm a local here and I used to go regularly but last time I went with my family I was very disappointed. Prices have risen and drinks are expensive,and worst of all the pork ribs we ordered were all burnt. To top it off we waited 1hr to be seated even though we had a booking,and we're told once we were seated we only had only 90mins seating. So that's my last time for hurricanes for me and my family. Mmmm Best Ribs and Steak- I frequently return to hurricanes (Brighton Le Sands) especially for there Ribs Sweet Potato Fries and Mushroom Sauce!! Also great value for money when you share a full rack of ribs, you can also order ribs half and half Pork & Beef!!
