If your looking for an amazing hotel near Kössen, Austria. Look no further!

Upon my arrival I was made feel very Welcome. The Lady at the front desk gave me all the deals about the hotel. Also organized me with a card to utilize with the buses.  The card is in conjunction with the local tourist office.  Great incentive to get people to visit the region and obviously for local businesses.  My room was very clean and had a great view. I was really impressed with the swimming pool. Turns out the swimming pool is brand new! Updated last year.  The Sauna and steam Room are amazing! Great area set up to relax after a long day out.  The breakfast is great! Lots of different breads, cereals and various cheeses.  Great coffee, orange juice and water.  I highly recommend visiting the restaurant during the afternoon and for dinner. Great choices on the menu.  I also recommend sitting outside in the afternoon for drinks.   Hotel Riedl definitely rates five stars and more! I definitely will return to this amazing hotel in the near future. It should be noted I am originally from Dublin, Ireland, Lived in the United States for over Thirty Years and served all over the world with the US Marines all over the world. I definitely know a Great Hotel from all my life experiences and travels all over the world. The owners and all the Staff are all very professional and friendly. Obwohl wir schon mehrfach Urlaub in Kössen genossen haben,  waren wir das erste Mal im Hotel Riedl. Es war ein toller Urlaub zu dem das gesamte Team des Hauses beigetragen hat - außerordentlich freundlich, mit Witz und Charme wurde jeder Tag (und nicht nur durch die kulinarische Highlights) zu einem Erlebnis. Wir kommen mit Sicherheit wieder.  Herzlichen Dank!!!

Although we have enjoyed holidays in Kössen several times, this was our first time at the Hotel Riedl. It was a great holiday to which the entire team contributed - extremely friendly, witty and charming, making every day an experience (and not just because of the culinary highlights). Bij aankomst om 11u 45 bleek de receptie al gesloten. Pas om 13u20 konden we inchecken. Dat viel dus even tegen.
De kamer met zicht op de tuin en het zwembadje was degelijk, eerder klein en niet gerenoveerd. Het hotel ligt rustig op 250 meter van de hoofdbaan en van de bushalte. Het ontbijt was ook degelijk, je kon een spiegelei bestellen en er was voor iedereen zeker voldoende variatie om zich goed te voelen. Vooral het diner viel bij ons in de smaak en dan bijzonder de gala-avond! Het personeel was super vriendelijk. Al bij al een heel degelijk hotel, al vind je in deze prijsklasse zeker nog beter en moderner.

Upon arrival at 11:45 am the reception was already closed. We were only able to check in at 1:20 PM. So that was a bit disappointing.
The room with a view of the garden and swimming pool was decent, rather small and not renovated. The hotel is quietly located 250 meters from the main road and the bus stop. The breakfast was also decent, you could order a fried egg and there was certainly enough variety for everyone to feel good. We especially enjoyed the dinner, especially the gala evening! The staff was super friendly. All in all a very decent hotel, although you will certainly find better and more modern hotels in this price range.

Bis auf eine weibliche Servicekraft ist das Personal ausnehmend freundlich und hilfsbereit.  Ein Missverständnis das wegen mangelnder Deutschkenntnisse entstanden ist, ist sofort am nächsten Tag behoben worden und es wurde sich mehrfach dafür entschuldigt.  Das Essen ist von guter bis sehr guter Qualität,  sehr schmackhaft und immer ansprechend angerichtet.  Auch Sonderwünsche waren kein Problem und wurden sich sofort für die nächsten Tage gemerkt.  Im Zimmer hätte ich mir auch einen Abfalleimer gewünscht und nicht nur den im Bad.  Im Bad wäre ein zweiter Handtuchhalter gut, damit die Handtücher nicht so dicht nebeneinander hängen.  Fliegengitter an den Fenstern wären schön. In der zweiten Etage kann man das Fenster auf dem Gang nicht öffnen.  Dadurch ist es dort sehr warm und stickig. Aber das ist meckern auf hohem Niveau.  Was ich sehr schade finde, dass man für einen ein- bis zweistündigen Spaziergang immer den selben Weg zurück gehen muss, da es keine Rundwege in der Nähe des Hotels gibt.  Dafür kann natürlich das Hotel nichts.

With the exception of one female waiter, the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful.  A misunderstanding that arose due to a lack of knowledge of German was immediately resolved the next day and apologies were made several times.  The food is of good to very good quality, very tasty and always attractively prepared.  Special requests were also no problem and were immediately noted for the next few days.  I would also have liked a trash can in the room and not just the one in the bathroom.  A second towel rack would be good in the bathroom so that the towels don't hang so close to each other.  Fly screens on the windows would be nice. On the second floor you cannot open the window in the hallway.  This makes it very warm and stuffy there. But that's complaining at a high level.  What I find very unfortunate is that you always have to go back the same way for a one to two hour walk, as there are no circular paths near the hotel.  Of course the hotel can't do anything about that.
