We had the pleasure of celebrating a birthday lunch at Rote Bar, and everything was absolutely perfect. From the warm, elegant ambiance to the impeccable service, the experience was truly top-notch. The staff were attentive and made us feel special throughout our visit. The food was outstanding, with every dish beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. It was a memorable dining experience, and we highly recommend Rote Bar for any special occasion or simply a remarkable meal. Excellent in every way!

The atmosphere is elegant and luxurious. I had mentioned that it was my girlfriend’s birthday, and they thoughtfully brought us a Sachertorte with a candle and a beautiful birthday decoration. The schnitzel was absolutely delicious as well! A heartfelt thank you to the staff for making an already special day definitely unforgettable!

I gave an overall 4 star rating due to the servers not having a welcoming attitude towards customers. There were both regulars and tourists dining at lunchtime when we were there. Walking into the opulent red room of Rote Bar in Hotel Sacher feels like walking into the past with the Royal Family of Austria. The room is filled with a rich red damask wallpaper, beautiful paintings and chandeliers. The food is mostly traditional Austrian cuisine. My husband had weiner schnitzel (breaded veal). It was thinly sliced, breaded with an airy light batter and fried perfectly. Truly one of the best I’ve ever tasted (and I’m not a big fan of veal). The grilled pike-perch (fish) was also perfectly cooked and delicious. The world famous chocolate cake was not one of my favorites. The chocolate cake itself is not a rich chocolate flavor (tasted like it could have some apricot in the recipe). However, the chocolate coating on the cake was decadent and delicious. We shared a 1/2 bottle of Austrian white wine and loved it as well.  The service was very good but the servers were not too friendly or engaging with customers. Overall, if you love the finer and more expensive things in life, it’s a must try!

This restaurant deserves 10 stars! The place is very very beautiful, the service were very pleasant, and the food was wonderful. The schnitzel was so much that i could not eat all. We celebrated 10 years of marriage and they were kind to give a piece of cake. Unforgettable!

Many people queue in front of the Sacher Hotel to get a piece of the famous cake. Not many know there are two gems hidden behind the walls: the bar(s) and the Rote Bar restaurant.

This has everything that I expect from a good restaurant: cosy, warm decor, great food and the best service. They know you serve the aperitif before you bring the first course. That you should open the bottle of wine after the aperitif and before serving the first course. This is authentic gastronomy, which has become rare in so many places.

Keep this a gem, and don't share it with too many people unless you are a true gourmand.
