An American taste in the center of Antwerp. Their burger was so tasty. I ordered Rockefeller burger with fries, Belgian fries. The place is so cute, with yellow-black color scheme. I like it. The staffs were friendly and helpful.

We were staying down the road from this place on our recent visit to Brussels. It was a quick and easy dinner and it hit the spot because I was staaaarving! I ordered the Rockefeller burger and fries. The burger was good but was nothing spectacular. The fries were perfect, especially since they came with mayo. Of course they came with mayo! :P

Loved it! Got the cheeseburger and fries combo with a Leffe (I told the owner you'd never find that in NYC, great Belgian beer on tap served in the proper glass) and both were superb. Burger in particular was gorgeous, with a perfect complement of messy toppings. Again I loved this place but found the whole NYC branding to be confusing. The beef is from Ireland, beer and frites are pure Belgium.

I went there one night after realizing that everything closes early in Brussels. The closest thing to an American burger in Brussels. The menu is pretty straight forward. I had a good experience, burgers, fries and beer. You simply can't go wrong.

This is a long review because I feel that burger joints is one of the few things that we miss in Brussel, and they have the potential but didn't nail it yet. ---------- Quick version: If you have time, yes give it a try. But for me the next time I want a burger and I see a 1h waiting line I'll be moving along. Good but not special. ---------- Being a personal fan of burgers in all it forms, made pretty exited to try this place. But excitement quickly turned in to state of wondering if this was a good choice when we walked in the restaurant. I don't think they thought it would be this popular from the start. First off the venue is not made for this amount of people to wait. The line goes around all the tables and can add up to 1h of waiting (probably part of the NY experience I guess). They do inform you on waiting times and ask if you wish to drink something. System is: you order on the left and then wait with a beacon at a table for your order to be prepared. Speaking of food, finally (you had to wait on that part the same time I had to wait on my burger). There are 6-7 beef burgers, veggie, chicken versions. You can also order salads (they looked good), shake/smoothies and dessert. So on the variety of food no comments. But soon as you go in detail on the beef burgers (my main focus of this visit) I don't seem intrigued by the options available. You normal, cheese, bacon varieties. I would have loved to see some more creative burgers (recipes can be found all over the internet these days). There are some more special combinations but they didn't tickled my interest. I went with the Rockefeller, simple with cheese and bacon and BBQ sauce. The burger itself was ok. Meat was ok but for me missed good seasoning. I know tastes are different. But if you want to add your mark on the burger scene make it a bit more special then just meat. Buns were a brioche but they get soggy quick, so not sure best choice. I wouldn't call it the best burger in town, not for the time you have to wait for it. As for the french fries, the look like the ones you get at McDo. At little more creativity would have been appreciated. And the side of coleslaw was more carrots with a little bit of sauce then what a real coleslaw is supposed to be. All in all. If you have time, yes give it a try. But for me the next time I want a burger and I see a 1h waiting line I'll be moving along. Good but not special.

To judge a good burger joint we usually look at the quality of the produce, the size, the look, value for money, service and general feel of the place. Manhattn's scores highly on most of those even though the service may be a little wayward. There are roughly ten burgers to pick from, with prices between 8 and 13 euros. For 5 extra euro you get handmade fries or a coleslaw, a sauce and a drink to add to your burger. On our first visit we tried a Gotham and a Gatsby burger. I asked for the meats 'saignant' and we were not disappointed, it was quite simply perfect. The burger was juicy and succulent, and the toppings, bun and glaze (truffle on the Gatsby) came together wonderfully well. This is no mishmash of cheap ingredients, the products are good and the compositions thought though. So strong points for the star of the show, the burger. The accompaniments were less exciting, the fries weren't bad but by Brussels standards somewhat under par. As for coleslaw, tasty as it was, I'd rather more cabbage and less grated carrot, but that is just a personal preference. Note that they also have rather yummy looking salmon and chicken burger, and have vegetarian option too. Something to try next time round. We did not get round to trying a dessert, and felt sufficiently full after our burgers, but they are mightily tempting: chocolate chip cookie or ice cream sandwich. In fact, despite feeling full I could have been tempted to order one, were it not for the rather hectic service which put me off the idea. Manhattn's stands out by being the closest thing you'll find to the more traditional US burger joint. Order one end from a straightforward menu, take a seat with your wireless coaster pager, and collect when it starts blinking. Simple enough? Well not quite, if it works then this is a rather good system, but some problems here make this a work in progress. As people enter they tend to divide into those that first look for a table and then order, and those that order and then look for a seat. If you happen to queue first and then look for somewhere to sit down you may find seating a challenge. At the counter, where you have one to three tills operating, it can get quite chaotic. After spending 15 minutes in the queue with one till operating, there was a surge when a second opened. In a fine example of 'survival of the fittest' it resulted in a lot of shoving and pushing only then to discover one till was only for people with cards. I also agree with another yelper who mentioned confusion when ordering slightly differently from the standard menus. Overall very good, I feel once service at the counter has been sorted out this could well be a winning burger joint, coming closest to what one would expect to find in the big apple. On the go? No worries, you can also takeout.

Prices- typical for this sort of hyped up "specialty" it's a bit over priced The greatest sin - the fries are awful. This I Brussels. How can you serve soggy, cold fries. Brooklyn beer is a nice taste of home, chapeau. Can we just serve the food hot (after 2 tries I gave up). And c'mon do better fries. Sometimes the long line indicates a bunch of suckers getting played.
