What an experience! We had high expectations when we started our evening at Hertog Jan but after 14 courses we were flabbergasted by the creativity and taste of every dish. This mixed with a highly skilled, motivated and friendly staff and we had the best cocktail to enjoy our night fully. We even got an additional dish to take home and enjoy the experience further the day after. Thanks to the amazing staff for the wonderful dinner!

This was an excellent experience. The food amazing, bold flavors expertly combined, quite some memorable dishes like the unsalted caviar, the mushroom ‘stew’, the white asparagus. Great wine selection and great service.

We had a wonderful experience during our lunch at Hertog Jan. This was our first visit to a 3 star restaurant after we ate at several 1 and 2 star restaurants and it totally lived up to our expectations. The plates look amazing and taste even better. The service is spot on and the attention to detail is incredible.

Pretentious and not very inventive. Form dominates over content. In the middle of the meal, I had a mild allergic reaction (skin turning red and fingertips turning red, numb and itchy). I have never had allergic reactions before in my life. Maybe due to the food ingredients or the cutlery (they use tin implements for some of the courses). The restaurant could not provide any anti-histaminic. When I asked for a glass of water, the waitress first engaged in a long conversation with another table and finally brought a glass of water with a long face. My mood and evening were ruined.
Michelin stars lately say more about the "have you seen me" mentality than about real craftsmanship.
