This is a very special place with a-lot of interesting history. I loved the way they uplift and preserve stories of artists. The guide seemed a little rushed and left us on a self guided tour, but I believe this was out of generosity and the tour was actually unavailable at the time. The Bosnian coffee was delicious and the little rolls that begin with a “U” were yummy! The kids had the most fun exploring all the little rooms.

Lovely place to drink the best coffee in Bașçarsı in Sarajevo. Very pleasant waiter. The best coffee. Try sweets. Sevdah music surrounds you, museum is nice. Experience how people used to live in such old houses and enjoy the lovely center garden.

Lovely olden day coffee shop. Tiny doors to the loo and inside(watch your head) waitron was nice and friendly.  It is interesting place to see.

Brilliant place for traditional Bosnian coffee/tea/natural juices. The cafe is surrounded by art and beautiful flowers. The waiters wears traditional clothes, which is a plus to the atmosphere and also they have excellent service. Coffee and baklava was delicious. The museum is also interesting if you are into old Bosnian artists, but either way it's worth entering to see the old furniture and other stuff. This place is definitely one of my favorite places in Sarajevo.

The Sevdah Art House officially opened its doors on May 8, 2008, during the 'Sarajevo Canton Days 2008' celebrations. This launch not only marked the beginning of a cultural journey but also served to highlight the importance of sevdalinka music in preserving the Bosnian identity. Located in a meticulously renovated 17th-century building known as Velike Daire, which was originally a trade warehouse, the museum showcases the artistic brilliance of this cherished musical genre.

2024: Sevdalinka inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List.

In December 2024, sevdalinka was officially recognized by UNESCO when it was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This prestigious recognition underscores the genre's significance and its vital role in the cultural identity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
