Not sure if this location is open during the stay-in-place order, but Torvehallerne (the market) is still open for takeaway. I ordered The Duck (burger and chips) and it took a bit over 35 minutes, which I noticed (as I was sitting there) was a bit of a consistent issue. It's not that bad, but it is a bit long of a wait. Just heads up if you're on a timetable, this might be a risk. If you're not, then you're probably safe to order and wander around or shop for a bit. Just ask how long it'll take when you order. Palæo renowned for being the first restaurant chain where you can go 100% paleo. As the name implies, their menu is focused on a paleo diet aka. the Stone Age Diet. Essentially, that means they're avoiding anything that processed or refined, and they're known for being 100% paleo. However, they do have items and options that don't adhere to it. This includes items like beer, coffee, and cheese, and they're all separate things that you must specifically order. It's just a very convenient spot if you're on paleo, lactose-free, or gluten-free diets. They have around 8 locations, and this particular one is a stall in Hall 1 of Torvehallerne Copenhagen market halls. This corner location means they have a lot of little tables suited for parties of one or two as well as counter seating, and during when I was there, there wasn't really anyone competing for seating. Overall, I thought the flavors were pretty great. My favorite thing in The Duck was the perfectly crisp fries and the accompanying sauce. I also liked the duck confit itself, but after a while, I just couldn't get into that bread substitute that was used as the buns. An interesting restaurant and I super appreciated that things are cooked to order as well as certain parts of what I ordered. However, while I was super excited about when I first saw it (something new to try), I just wasn't as enthusiastic about it afterward. In the end, it added to the experience of coming to such a trendy market and is an experience, but just not my cup of tea.

So happy we found this place while waiting for our train ride to Sweden. Egg wraps are an inventive way to make the wrap keto style. The egg wrap is nicely seasoned and thick enough to hold all of the stuffing in the "burrito". Everything is freshly made right before your eyes. The veggies were crunchy and went well with the egg wrap's taste.

The salads are good but a little dry. I recommend going for a wrap instead because those are absolutely delicious!

Great experience! I decided to just ask the gentleman working there what his favorite menu items were and ordered them. It was one my best decisions/non-decisions. Based on his recommendations I got the Chicken Wrap + bacon, and a Cucumber Juice (Apple, Cucumber, Spinach). The wraps are an egg base, which I was not expecting but liked. The ingredients were fresh and the wrap was overall delicious. Let's talk about the juice though... it was the most amazing juice I've ever had. I would move to Copenhagen for this juice alone. It's odd to say because it's just juice. But Palæo knows juice! Also, It must be said that everything from Palæo is gluten free and dairy free. It's quite rare to be able to have so many options on a menu to choose from. I'd definitely recommend Palæo for folks with allergies, juice lovers, or anyone that just wants some good food.

Located in the Torvehallernr food market this was a nice gem. All the food looked great at this place, but this was exceptional. We had a pulled duck burger. Absolutely delicious. Kudos to the cook who said he ran out if the regular accoutrements we asked him to improvise and that they did. Also, Served with sweet potatoes. This was just one of many specialty items on the menu.

We might have ordered the wrong things for our taste palettes, or maybe we are not used to the paleo diet, but my friend and I weren't impressed. The food was ok, not great. A plus is that it is really heathy and the juices look good. Lots of vegetarian options. There are a lot of options, but it basically cycles the same few ingredients (as the paleo diet is specific) so it doesn't leave you much to choose from.

I have been eating Paleo for 3 years and it's hard to find convenient places while traveling. This cafe makes it easy since EVERYTHING is paleo! I ordered... Sausage and Egg Wrap: 4/5. The ingredients were tasty and I liked the combination of sausage, mushrooms, and sauce. The sausage had a great snap to it. But it was messy to eat and kept falling apart. Americano: 5/5. One of the best I've had in my life! Location: it is inside the food hall which makes it quite chaotic and busy. But there are plenty of tables. There isn't much waiting room and I felt like I was in everyone's way while waiting for my food.

Hot roast duck, red cabbage, pomegranate, fresh orange and all wrapped up (and presented as a 'wrap) in an egg wrap! That stuff is the thing of dreams. Ok it was a bit pricey at around £7 but it waaas goooood. Good luck trying to stop those pesky pomegranate seeds falling out as you eat, and the fresh fruit in there does drip out quite a bit of juice so you are likely to get it all over yourself, but you won't mind after tasting it. This place is in a rather new and purpose built market and you can simply wander from store to store picking what you want to have for your lunch. I just popped across the aisle while I waited for my wrap from heaven and grabbed a pint of a local beer then plonked myself at a table and waited for my name to be called. Didn't have to wait long. Spent the rest of my time there throwing my food down my t-shirt, swigging beer and watching the people go by, wonderful, recommend it to anyone.

My friend visiting from Norway reeeeeally wanted to go to Palæo while she was in Copenhagen. Seems like it almost has some mythical status among foodies in Oslo, since they're all raving about the whole "stone age" diet over there. We were not disappointed. Both of us got wraps. Mine was with honey-marinated chicken, cabbage and cashews and came in a lovely omelet-ish wrap. It tasted very nice and fresh and felt super healthy. It also made me full for quite a while, which is pretty amazing, seeing as I can eat anytime, all the time. Since it was the weekend (who am I kidding, I'd have one any day), I was feeling fancy and got a chocolate milkshake. Also very yummy and surprisingly nice with the wrap. I find it kinda hilarious, though, that they add protein powder to their shakes. Very stone-agey. The tables they had were a little messy when we got there, even though they didn't seem too busy. But the service was quick and cheery. All in all a very nice experience and sure to be repeated!

Kettlebells never struck me as centerpieces, but Paleo uses them everywhere --- in front of the counter, on the picnic tables, any place 30 pounds of iron will fit. We grabbed a carrot-avocado-ginger juice on a swing through the market; I'm not sure I go for the image of a caveman with a juice extractor, but the drink was tasty. The pictures of the food looked good --- but everyone seemed to be getting juice, either the bright orange carrot-based one, or something green. I'll have to try a grain bowl next time. Or maybe just a hunk of wooly mammoth.
