Okay, so if there's one thing I know, it's Mexican food. And if there's one thing I have been longing for unrequitedly (is that a word? am I using it correctly?) since my arrival in the land of the vikings, it's also Mexican food. Sure there's Taco Shop (texmex) and La Fiesta Mexicana (arguably also texmex) and a whole slew of other places that CALL themselves Mexican, but let's face it, aren't really, and moreover, are just bad, but actual Mexican food is something I had to abandon when I decided to move to Denmark. It became clear to me that mastering the Mexican flavor was something that came with years of exposure to Mexican culture, entire childhoods that were built around eating out at Mexican restaurants, and extensive travel around Real Mexico (ie: not resorts). So when yelp community manager Emilie posted pictures of tacos on yelp a couple months ago, she was met with a little too much skepticism by yours truly. REAL tacos?! In Denmark?! PLEASE. This is no lie though. I would not lead my fellow taco-loving constituents astray on this one, scoutshonor. Real tacos now FINALLY exist in Denmark, and while I miss Fortunen (they changed names and food styles after never quite getting what they wanted out of Fortunen, and bleeding through four chefs before they finally just decided to quit on new nordic tapas and move full speed on over to central america), I couldn't be more delighted about the replacement, which I will visit over and over again, until I'm so burnt out on tacos I can't imagine putting another one in my mouth (aka: never). One area where I feel like they could still make improvements is their guac(amole). It's not bad, but it's definitely not Mexican. Commendable effort though given the TERRIBLE quality of avocados available in Copenhagen. You gotta make do with what you got, I guess. They should also put Corona on the menu, even though we were met with a very valid reason for why it's not (they have Modelo, and it's just as good). Pro-tip: never say no to tacos. Also, there is no such thing as too much ceviche. Just sayin'.

Tacos and margaritas in the sun, with a view on Christiansborg castle - what's not to like? As soon as the sun came out, I had to go and test Condesa for myself - after all, I'd heard many good things about it! The tables outside can't be reserved, and since everyone was out and about in the evening sun, I was already mentally preparing myself for a long wait. The staff don't assign tables, so you just have to watch like a hawk and pounce at the first opportunity - which, lucky for me, came after only a couple of minutes. We got the 6 tacos to share and some tuna ceviche, alongside some margaritas, of course! The margaritas are excellent, and I'd definitely recommend to go for the pitcher if you're three or more (or two in a REALLY good party mood). The food arrived quickly and looked amazing. We got the three classic tacos: beef al pastor, pork, and fried white fish. They were all amazing, but if I had to pick a favorite, it'd be the pork. The tuna ceviche was brilliant, with chunks of fried corn-on-the-cob and avocado, and pretty spicy as well! Staff was friendly and quick, although we realized after we'd left that we never got the pitcher of ice water we asked for. I'll be coming back for another round of tacos and margaritas in the sun, that's for sure!

I feel Condesa is much more of a bar than a restaurant. Fair enough regarding to its location by Gammel Strand, facing Christiansborg where most cocktail bars are. I booked a table, fearing that it would be crowded on Saturday evening and found out that it wasn't possible to book a table outside. As it turned out there were some empty tables outside although the weather was fine (at start) so I told the waitress that I would rather to sit outside. I sat for a couple of minutes while waiting for my friend but none of the waiters/ waitresses came up with the menu. The waitress who seated me by the table was extremely friendly but apart from her, it seemed like no one cared. I could see there were some waiters inside the dark restaurant, lounging and talking to each other, couldn't care less about the patrons looking out for menu or just placing an order. I had to get up in the end to get a menu and had to do the same to place order. Sorry, really. But you knew I was sitting there and hadn't ordered anything and the place wasn't busy so you could have kept in track with the guests. However, the bad service was forgivable by the nice waitress that made sure that our food was good and that we didn't lack anything. It seems like she was the only one who was doing her job. Other waiters? Not so much. Food wise, there were set menus (at 200kr ++) and since my friend and I weren't that hungry we decided to get the 6x tacos at 180kr to split between us. I ordered tostadas as starter and a kiwi margarita. Sadly to say, the drink was disappointing. The margarita came in a small glass and not the proper margarita glass. Far from the quality margarita I got in Scania, for example, a sad miss for a restaurant that is more like a bar in the first place. Tostadas were delicious and so was the salsa (with the just right amount of spiciness). The tacos (beef, pork and fish) were awesome but the tortilla were too small that it was a total mess to eat, but hey I'm not complaining. I don't mind messy eating as long as they're good and they were. If it were for the tacos alone, I would probably give it four stars. They were delicious, but sadly the bad service took down one star and so was the bad margarita. Sorry Condesa, I am not just that into you...

Being the lover of Mexican food, I had to try this place. We sat outside and heard the menu just got changed. We ordered a "Grande"" menu which consisted of a started, 2 tacos, a main and a side dish. The tuna ceviche was awesome. The pork tacos were some of the best I've ever had. The shells are almost like pancakes which sounds weird but totally works. The side dish was this out of this world corn which had this cream sauce on it with chili. So so good we wanted seconds. And the Main was this awesome fish in this great sauce that had a kick but wasn't too overpowering. The reason this place gets 4 stars is that their cocktails are average and overpriced and the food took forever. However we had a sweet waitress who comped some cocktails to make up for it which was very nice of her. This may now be my favorite Mexican place in town. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu!

Really nice dishes, however a bit expensive compared to the sizes. Loving the duck tacos Really good atmosphere and super helpful waiters. Their beer is good, but their drinks are a bit bland and the pitchers don't have much taste.

Thank you, I have been searching for a good place in Copenhagen that actually makes Mexican food and who knows what it contains. This place is great and the food was amazing, I tried all the tacos, which was pretty good I must say. The rest of the menu looked also pretty amazing - and I will be back to try more. I was sat outside, as I was there on a lovely summernight. But the inside looked very nice as well, lots of space and a cozy looking space. The service was very nicel and their prices are really okay. Good place to get Mexican, which comes the closest to the real deal.

I have been here twice for the sandwiches. At first I was looking for a place with ceviche. So i tried their ceviche and bbq pork sandwiches. The portion of the ceviche is small and its average. BUT the sandwiches are AMAZING. The sauce was perfect and tasty. and their spicy fries too. I love them. However they only serve sandwiches in lunch time, and it cost 120 kr for a sandwich and the fries, which is a bit pricy :/ Will come back if i have extra money for such expensive lunch.

The tacos were amazing you could feel the flavor and the detail in how they were prepare, the servie was great. The only area in which those guys could do a little better was on the salsas, I strongly believe that a great mexican restaurant around the world should have great salsas and sadly the salsa that was advertised in the restaurant menu as home made was not. But overall if you are in Copenhagen in the mood from some top of the line gourment tacos definetly a yes.

Condesa was my first meal when visiting family in Copenhagen. I highly recommend the oysters and white fish tacos. We sat outside on a brisk evening wrapped in blankets and sipping on Palomas (grape soda/tequila/lime).

As a native Texan myself , I can really recommend this place for TexMex. This gotta be the best fusion "Mexican" place I've been in Copenhagen so far. I was taken by surprise by the quality of tortilla (corn) and the ceviche was on point. I can assure you will not find a square of melted cheese on chips and call it "nachos" and pita bread as tortilla here.
