Torvehallerne in Copenhagen was the place we went for lunch. Banh Mi Daily by Lele was one of the stalls we stopped at to grab a bite to eat. We chose to share their Five Spice Pork Vietnamese Baguette sandwich. Overall, the sandwich was okay. Meat was flavorful, but not much of it in the sandwich. Maybe, I am too used to larger portions in the States. Banh Mi Daily is worth trying. They have other items available on their menu. Prices seem reasonable as well.

This is not authentic tasting Vietnamese food if that's what you're looking for. You aren't going to find the traditional Bahn Mi ingredients in their version of Bahn Mi here at LêLê. I mean you might find a couple traditional ingredients in their food but not enough to give it the true Vietnamese food distinction. It was just way too westernized for my liking. That being said, the Bahn Mi just didn't have the flavors I was looking for that all Bahn Mi typically have. Plus the bread was way too hard and is just sitting out getting cold. They don't toast it when making your Bahn Mi. The tofu was good though. It was cut thin and was firm and crispy. That and the great service was where the three stars came from. There's better options for Vietnamese food in the city.

Honestly a pretty good banh mi. Bread is toasted well and the meat is flavorful. Pricing is fair too. It's a convenient stop if you're going through Torvehallerne.

I was thrilled when LêLê opened a Banh Mi place in Torvehallerne. I've always thought LêLê was great, so I had high hopes for their Banh Mi. I've been here on two different occasions so far. On my first trip I ordered their Banh Mi with lemongrass beef which I thought was really tasty! The beef had a nice flavor, but I think I was just so excited about this sandwich due to the lemongrass. I love lemongrass so I'm always excited to see it on a menu. On my second trip I ordered their steamed buns with lemongrass beef & a hyldeblomst drink (Seriously, that lemongrass!) and the buns were just ok. I have never tried steamed buns before, so maybe I'm just not a fan of them. I didn't feel like they tasted like much. Everything inside the buns was great though. Nice flavor.

Granted, this is my first Banh Mi in CPH so I'm not sure how it compares to its competitors, but good God, this is insulting to true Banh Mi. Having been raised by parents who grew up in Vietnamese culture and pretty much lived off Banh Mi in the 626 haven of Asian food, this place at that price (~60kr) is a disgrace. Food: 2/5. Banh mi is best served warm, so their practice of pre-making and pre-wrapping is an efficient system that fail to deliver quality food. Turnaround from order to receipt is less than 2 minutes. While the bread was surprisingly still warm when I got it, despite looking like it sat out for at least half an hour, it gets quickly soggy. The portions aren't large, so it's definitely a one meal portion, but I tried rationing it for dinner too since I had a long day. The Banh Mi I've had has always been fine sitting out for hours at a time and is still great even after being refrigerated. However, LeLe's was awful after about 2 hours. Service: 2/5. There were only two guys running the stand when I went, but neither seemed interested in answering my questions or beyond taking our money. At some point, they couldn't take credit card payments either and didn't really explain why, so carry some cash in case. For 60kr, it is cheaper than other Torvehallerne options, but it's true you get what you pay for.

This may not be 100% authentic banh mi (think way less fish sauce), but the five spice pork banh mi is extremely delicious. Come in the morning for particularly fresh bread and sandwiches made fresh to order. Very delicious bread, too! LêLê is one of the places I keep coming back to whenever I happen to be in Copenhagen.

Came here with some local friends before an evening at Tivoli. They recommended it for great food at good prices, and I have to say I agree. Eating out is pretty expensive in Copenhagen, so to get a good meal for about $10 is noteworthy. There are small plates and larger plates so you can put together a meal that matches your appetite. My friends all got full bowls and really enjoyed them. I was still pretty full from my afternoon grazing so I just got a small plate of crab dumplings. They were fried so they were alright -- about what you can expect. Everything my friends got were more fresh options and they looked great, so maybe steer more in that direction. I noticed a location of LeLe's in Copenhagen Street Food too, in case you're in that area and want to try it.

I came here since I heard that it was one of the few places where you can get banh-mi sandwiches in Copenhagen. I ate the five spiced pork banh-mi and overall, I really enjoyed it! Although the sandwich was not big, it was jammed pack with good flavor. There was a good amount of meat and veggies such as cilantro and pickled carrots. You do not get traditional ingredients like pâté, mayonnaise, and jalapeños. But, the sandwich was still flavorful and had a crispy exterior. Additionally, you can see the staff making your food in front of you. This makes for a great personal and upfront experience of the making of your meal. Plus, the smell of the fresh food makes the atmosphere even more delightful. The staff are respectful and provide food in a very presentable and careful fashion. With that said and the tasty banh-mi, I am definitely a fan of this establishment and will return in the future.

If zombie apocalypse was coming and I had nowhere to go to secure myself a meal, this place could be an alternative. That said, I got no grudge against Bahn mi daily, but sandwich is really not my thing. As an Indonesian, food has to be warm and served on a plate, oil paper, banana leaf or whatever - and sandwich is something that you take on a road trip, in between eating stop. So you see, I wasn't quite groomed to love sandwich in the first place. But as I said we went here because Hija de Sanchez was hibernating for the winter and we needed a quick alternative before drowning our stomach sack in huge amount of alcohol, so bahn mi was the Asian that we were looking for. I ordered the so-called house specialty aka the Lemongrass Beef bahn mi. It was already packed and ready to go on a shelf. What can I say? It's fast food a la Vietnam. We took a seat on the side of the booth and started munching the sandwich. While the beef was tender (somehow reminds me of Philly Cheesteak, and why nobody is making one in Torvehallen?), it was flavoured too strong with what they perceived as lemongrass. Sorry people, I just don't get the hype with people putting ginger or soya sauce, or lemongrass and then call it "Asian" or with Asian influence at all. The flavouring was too strong for my taste and the overall experience was too salty. The reason I finished the whole baguette (which was OK price for the size of the "sandwich") was because I was hungry and that I was fully aware that I needed to eat before drinking. Maybe I'd give this place another chance and ordered the spicy fried eggs because you could never go wrong with spicy fried eggs, or could you??
