The toasts are standard fare and decent but not crazy. The five stars are for the pancakes. Thick yet light, with a light crunch at top and bottom so it's a true pancake and not some other bready thing. The pancakes are superstar good, worthy of going just for pancakes alone. The berry compote is also delicious, sweet but not too sweet, a little tart and textured to be real berries but not in the way of the pancake.

Yes the toasts are decent. But GET THE PANCAKES. Brig a crew actually so you can share pancakes while each having a toast.

The rude and impolite staff was truly disappointing. I loved Copenhagen, but the experience I had at Friheden left me very disappointed. I asked the staff responsible for selling beer and wine in front of Friheden a few questions about Copenhagen, but they completely ignored me. They didn’t even bother to answer my questions and indifferently kept working on their computer. In a mocking manner, instead of answering my questions, they said, “have a good night bro” and went back to their computer. I had planned to visit Friheden almost a month before coming to Copenhagen from Berlin, and I had never imagined such an experience. I would never, ever recommend this place to anyone visiting Copenhagen.

Earlier today I got pancakes there after couple of days of wanting some, it was so soft fluffy and topped with sweet blackcurrant jam. One of the best I have ever had, if I was the person who made such pancakes I will go out and look at people faces when they taste it.
I thought about taking a picture after we ate most of it, sorry.

We loved this place! It’s got such a chill vibe with its outdoor seating between the trees, skate park in between. Very relaxing atmosphere. Perfect for a warm sunny afternoon. The food was great - delicious pancakes, really good bread.
